Setting the Captives Free World-Wide ~ Breaking the Chains of Bondage (Isaiah 61:1)

God’s Road Map to Heaven by Way of Route 66 ~ Seeing Jesus in Every Book of the Bible

Moses ~ Part 2 (Exodus)

As I continue with Moses, it is important for the readers to understand that the Bible is a book of prophecy (foretelling future events) and it is confirmed by things that have already come to past and things that are current. Example of past prophecies that have been fulfilled: Joel prophesied sons and daughters will prophecy- Philip’s daughters prophesied (Acts 21:9); old men will dream dreams and young men shall see visions (Joel 2:28.); preached by Peter on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:15-21).

This took place after Pentecost which was the beginning of the church age (Acts, chapter 2). The Gospel would be extended to the Gentiles; Peter was given a vision and he was sent to Cornelius, a Gentile (Acts, chapter 10).

A current event is going on where prophecy is still being fulfilled: Many coming in Jesus name saying I am Christ, you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, kingdoms against kingdoms, nations against nations, great earthquakes in different places, pestilences (diseases), wars and rumors of wars (Matthew 24:4-8.).

This is one of the scriptures I used when witnessing and especially to a Jew who asked me to show him that the Bible was true; he could not argue the point because of current events happening today that are written in the Bible.

A question was asked as to how Moses wrote the five books, called the Torah when he was dead. That is a very interesting point and a valid question. How could Moses write about God burying him in Deuteronomy 34:4-7? These books were written prophetically (foretold, futuristic).

The answer is here: And there arose not a prophet in Israel who was like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face (Deuteronomy 34:10-12). When Moses’ sister and brother came against him, (paraphrased): “Does the Lord speak to you only”? The Lord let them know that He had spoken to Moses mouth to mouth (Numbers 12:5-8.); they were punished for speaking against Moses and Miriam turned leprous (Numbers 12:9-15).

I am going to go a step further: Prophecy did not come in old time by the will of man, but by holy men of God who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). God wants His children to understand Jesus Christ throughout the 66 books, so they will be able to give an answer to everyone.

Since there are many cults and false religions, you need to be able to share with such effectiveness, that they will have a change of heart about their way of thinking. We are commissioned by Jesus to carry the Gospel to whoever we come in contact with; teaching them what we know (Matthew 28:19-20). As we travel further on Route 66, you will see how other prophets of God foretold future events foreshadowing Christ.

Moses was a type of Christ; in that he was sent to deliver God’s people from bondage. Christ was the deliverer who would physically be revealed (Luke 2:7, Galatians 4:4-5); our Savior was seen as a type and figure foreshadowing things to come (Colossians 2:14-17).

The law was written for man to see how sinful he was; Christ was revealed to take care of what the law could not take care of (John 1:17). When Christ died and rose from the dead, He brought Grace which took care of the sin problem once and for all, or permanently (John 1:17, Ephesians 2:8-9).
