Setting the Captives Free World-Wide ~ Breaking the Chains of Bondage (Isaiah 61:1)

Old Testament Prophecy Confirmed in the New Testament – Seeing Jesus in Every Book of the Bible

In seeking God and asking Him if these messages from Burnett Ministries about “God’s Road Map to Heaven by Way of Route 66” were to continue, I received confirmation while searching the internet. From that I am going to reiterate how it is important to understand the full plan of God and how the entire Old Testament points toward Jesus the Christ as Savior which was fulfillment the Old Testament Prophecy (Matthew, chapters 1-2, Mark 1:2-3, Luke, chapters 1-2, 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Peter 1:21).

Although we are living under the time period of grace, some of The New Testament cannot be fully understood without understanding the Old Testament Prophecy; therefore, it is wise to understand the Old Testament Prophecy. For instance, if you go to the movies late, you will miss the full meaning of what the entire movie is about.

These are examples:

The plan of Salvation is revealed throughout the Old Testament, foreshadowed through types and figures. God prophesied to Adam and Eve about the virgin birth and Jesus’s death (Genesis 3:15). Boaz redeemed Ruth, a Gentile (an unsaved person) - (Ruth 4:9). This was symbolic of Jesus purchasing (redeeming sinners- Galatians 3:13-15). You will see this again in the book of Ruth.

1. The Old Testament gives a portrait of Jesus Christ reigning as King and with a rule of iron in Revelation 19:15, was prophesied in Psalm 2:2-12.

2. Isaiah prophesied about Jesus Christ and how He will rule (Isaiah 9:7). The saints will rule with Him (Revelation 20:4-6).

3. Satan: When you read about Satan (the great dragon) being cast out of heaven and one third of the angels (stars) were drawn with him in Revelation 12:3-9, it will not be fully understood unless you read (Isaiah 14:12-14); it gives the reason Lucifer the light-bearer fell and he became God’s enemy and his name was changed to Satan, among other names given that mean adversary, opposer, etc. Ezekiel, chapter 28 gives a vivid description of Lucifer in his unfallen state, because of his beauty, he was lifted with pride and he influenced the King of Tyre. This prophecy is connected with Daniel 7:8 and Revelation 19:20, referring to the anti-christ (the beast).

4. The Judgement Seat of Christ in Psalm 1:1-3 ~ Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful…..he is like a tree planted by the rivers of water, and brings forth fruit in its season….this is the righteous way and it is confirmed in Revelation 21:27. This is the way of the unrighteous - Psalm 1:3-6 ~…. The ungodly shall not stand in the judgment nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. The Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish. The unrighteous will stand before the Great White Throne Judgement (Revelation 20:11-15).
