What People Say Versus What the Word of God Says 10-4-2022

• I heard this from a minister over the past weekend, “God created evil.” The way the person interpreted the scripture looked as though it was a contradiction, and that is not possible. God’s Word cannot contradict itself. So, who is true, God or the minister?

• The scripture was taken from Isaiah 45:7- I form the light, and create darkness, I make peace and create evil, I the Lord do all these things. That is exactly what the scripture says. However, God did not create evil, what He created became evil.

• Actually, sin started when Lucifer, the light-bearer became Satan, who became God’s enemy, and ours too, when he wanted to be like the Most-high God (Isaiah 14:12-14).

• The scripture that shows God did not create evil is in Genesis 1:10, 12, 18, 21, 25 where it says God called what He had made, good. And God saw everything that He had made, and it was very good, verse thirty-one.

• Do you see how this person misinterpreted the Word of God? He never mentioned Genesis and how everything God made was good and very good.

• That is why it takes much studying and not leaning to our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). We must allow the Spirit of God to help us, along with those whom God has called to teach. And in our studying, see if there are other scriptures that relate, connect, and support that particular scripture.

• Also, ask yourself, “Does this make sense?” Just as the scripture that is written today, “Does it make sense?” Remember the wonderful brains God gave us to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. It is the glory of God to conceal the matter. But the gory of kings is to search out the matter (Proverbs 25:2). We are royal, you know! (1 Peter 2:9)

• I strongly encourage/urge you to get in a church that teaches sound doctrine and stop listening to some of these ministries that cause you to be confused. Then you will not be tossed here and there with every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:11-16).

Mature believers will be able to discern both good and evil (Hebrews 5:12-14).

Two Journeys 10-3-2022

• We travel day to day, going from place to place to reach our destinations. We also need directions if we are going to unfamiliar places. Some trips are short and some may be long, yet we reach each one safely and whatever our goals are, they get accomplished. It gives us satisfaction knowing that at the end of the day we can rest at ease.

• There is another journey that we are on as we travel this road from earth to heaven. We also have goals (purpose) that need to be accomplished, so when we leave this earth we rest in the arms of our loving Father.

• The main road that we travel is the Bible which will direct us to other roads to take on this journey. As we follow the directions, God will reward us for fulfilling our destiny and that is the greatest satisfaction any child of God can have.

• Brothers and sisters as you move about today, whatever your task may be, do it all to the glory of God and one day you will hear Christ say, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”

May the abundant blessings of Almighty God our Father be showered upon you.

Why is “Hallelujah” the Highest Praise?

• When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He’s done for me, My soul cries out “Hallelujah,” I thank God for saving me.

• A couple of weeks ago, the question was asked if “Hallelujah” the highest praise was in the Bible. I immediately started looking to see where the scripture was located.

From the internet

• The word hallelujah in Revelation, chapter 19 is used in heaven, where a great multitude has gathered before the throne in the immediate presence of God Himself. It is the wedding supper of the Lamb. The enemies of God have been overthrown, and the gospel has triumphed. In a victory celebration, all heaven renders praise, a song of thanksgiving uttered by all holy beings united.

• Reasons for this outpouring of praise is God’s victory over His enemies (Revelation 19:1–3), His sovereignty (verses 4–6), and His eternal communion with His people (verse 7). The sound of the outpouring of praise and worship, John describes.. ”And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.”

• So great is the rejoicing by God’s people at the wedding feast of the Bridegroom (Christ) and the bride (the church) that hallelujah is the only word grand enough to express it. Handel’s version of the great chorus in heaven, as glorious as that music is, its only a feeble foreshadowing of the magnificence that will be expressed by the inhabitants of heaven.

[Hallelujah and Alleluia are the same] Praise is mentioned hundreds of times in the Bible

The Scriptures (Revelation 19:1-7)

1. And after these things I heard a great voice of many people in heaven, saying, Alleluia, Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

2. For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

3. And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

4. And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen: Alleluia.

5. And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

6. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns.

7. Let us be glad and rejoice and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

• Two of the reasons in this text why we should give God the highest praise - He triumphed over the enemy because no one is greater. Our God is Omnipotent, meaning He is all-powerful!

• We who make ourselves ready and are waiting for our soon coming King should continually give Him the “Hallelujah” highest praise!

Are you prepared to meet our Savior or will you be ashamed when He appears? (1 John 2:28). He’s coming so soon!

Valerie’s Testimony/Story (Part 2) 9-30-2022

• Introduction: After reading Part 1 of Valerie’s testimony/story, certainly the readers had to be on edge waiting for Part 2. I thank the Lord for Valerie being so transparent; somebody needs to be encouraged, somebody wants to be set free from the shame and being held captive by the devil, somebody needs hope. To Him who is joined to all living there is hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion (Ecclesiastes 9:4). In other words, as long as there is breath in your body, there is hope.

My Story continued – Valerie

• I had alienated my family, friends and even the dope man. I never mentioned in this story that I have a daughter who traveled this journey with me, about whom I didn’t even think. Took her on drug runs with me. My last run liked to kill me; smoked what I thought was crack and passed out twice. Even though I was really tired of being sick and tired, and not being able to get what I wanted, my body was not working for me. I didn’t have a home, had lost it all, and was in the street.

• I still wanted more crack, or anything else I could get; I was gone. I tried to quit on my own, but it didn’t work. I met Betty who I believe God placed in my life. She was always around, couldn’t figure out where she came from and why she was there. But every time I tried to get high she would show up somewhere in my life. She offered me help and told me God loves me and she did too but I didn’t think she really understood.

• Also, I didn’t like it because she wanted to help me and I tried to fake it like there was a change whenever she saw me. But she saw right through me and still cared. I remember her saying, when you get ready, call me. But now I know that God had sent her as an angel to watch over me.

• Getting high was not fun anymore, being all by myself was no fun. I would talk to God in abandon houses where I would stay in the dark, still searching for a hit. Yet I was still hoping that the drug dealer had hid his bag. I just knew God didn’t hear me because I was still out there in the streets. I was familiar with church and I knew church people but my shame and guilt wouldn’t let me go back.

• My mom and sister said you can come eat, change clothes, and rest a few minutes but you can’t stay. I had done so much that they couldn’t trust me, and I couldn’t trust myself. The last time I went to my sister’s house, she gave me an ultimatum: “You got to get help or you got to go.” Go where? I had nowhere to go.

• I said okay to my sister, but instead of making the right decision, my mind was thinking where I could get some more crack. So, I went to some people I knew and told them I was going to get help and needed money to buy things to take with me and that was my last run of drugs and alcohol.

• That was it! It was over and I went to a rehab and from there I kept moving forward, got my one year medal and have been clean for twenty-five years, praise God.

• What to take away from Valerie’s testimony. Don’t give up. I was told once to never stop in a storm; if you keep going you will realize you were closer to the end of the storm than you thought. Trust God to bring you out the storm because He keeps His Word. God is the Restorer – my family and I have been reunited!

Betty’s take away – Don’t give up on your loved ones!

Valerie’s Testimony/Story 9-29-2022

Introduction: This is the first time a two-part Testimony/Story will be posted because I feel the readers will be cheated out of vital information that will help them to be encouraged while others will be set free. Valerie has spoken to various audiences for many years sharing her testimony how she was delivered from the pit to praise! Thank God for her transparency! Meet my friend and sister in Christ.

My Story – Valerie (Part 1)

• First, I want to thank God! This is a journey that I am still on. I would like to thank Betty who is very instrumental in my recovery.

• It all started at an incredibly young before I knew the seriousness of it, that is my drinking and fast life. Some was very unpleasant and some I don’t remember. Some was fun and on the other hand, some almost got me killed. My drinking and getting high started at the age of fourteen which caused a problem with my family.

• Because I felt like I didn’t belong, being a part of the in crowd was what I gravitated to. Being sexually abused at a young age was one of my secrets, not knowing what it would cost a lot of years later. As time went on drinking became a routine almost every day, at home and at school. Back in the day, you could always get someone to buy alcohol for you.

• Things started to change, I wanted friends who did more than drinking, hanging out and partying. Once I started working my alcohol habit became more severe. I knew what heroin, acid and cocaine were, but did not have the urge to indulge in those stronger drugs yet.

• Once again there was another friend change, it became more fun drinking, smoking weed, and trying acid. With that kind of habit came a need that would cost more than I could afford, and then I remembered growing up being given a few dollars for sexual favors.

• As time went on, it went from friend change to drug change. Once I tried crack cocaine there was no turning back. This was the drug demon that took over my mind, body, and everything in between. I gave it my wholehearted attention and it caused me to steal, lie, cheat and I sold myself to the highest bidder sometimes the lowest bidder because this drug made me a slave to it.

• I forgot about family, friends, partying, and anything else anybody wanted to do, it became all about me and drugs and I did everything to get it. I was at the point that it seemed like death was about to happen.

• I had alienated family, friends and even the dope man. I remember them saying don’t come begging, we don’t have no money or anything for you.

Come back tomorrow for Part 2

Trying to Put (force) Pieces in a Puzzle that do not Fit 9-28-2022

Years ago, probably in the late 1990’s, two of us discussed misquoted scriptures and were planning to post them on the website.

I’ve been wanting to tackle this particular one for a long time. I was even asked a while ago when I was going to post a message pertaining to two scriptures that are so far stretched, there is no connection. One scripture does not support the other, nor does it relate to the other.

These are the scriptures

• The race is not given to the swift nor the battle to the strong (Ecclesiastes 9:10), but he that endures to the end shall be saved (Matthew 24:13). First of all, the verse in Ecclesiastes is partially quoted by some people.

• Let’s go to the entire verses in Ecclesiastes 9:10 – I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happened to them all.

Explanation of what Solomon was saying

• Notice that he was saying under the sun, so it means that this was from man’s point of view. Solomon said but time and chance happened to everything he named. We know that God is not about chance, which means that something happened by accident or fortune. When it comes to God, nothing is by chance (accident).

• The verse in Matthew is Jesus answering His disciples’ questions about future events. This is pertaining to Israel, not the church. Although catastrophic events are taking place during this present age, things will get progressively worse until Christ meets us in the air so we can be with Him forever (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

• The first part of the tribulation will be three and a half years, and then all hell will break loose during the second three and a half years, which is called the great tribulation. Jesus spoke of the great tribulation as nothing that has ever happened from the beginning of the world to this time, nor shall it ever be (Matthew 24:21).

• Jesus told them step by step or chronologically the events that would take place leading up the tribulation, and then He said:

But he that shall endure to the end the same shall be saved (Matthew 24:13). Jesus was not talking about salvation; He was talking man’s physical life. During the tribulation, many will lose their lives because they won’t take the mark of the beast (Revelation 13:15).

Where is the connection? I don’t get it! Do you see any connection?

•When I wrote the topic, it is like someone forcing a piece of puzzle where it does not fit. That will never work because every piece of the puzzle was specifically made to fit in its own place. It’s the same with the Bible, every scripture has to connect with another scripture in order for the verses to fit properly.

For your information, I have tried to force or have misinterpreted what the Word of God was saying, but the more I study and grow, the mistakes become fewer.

• We are commanded to study to show ourselves approved unto God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). You may say, “I do not see the word command.” When Jesus told the disciples to go, that was a command (Matthew 28:19). If one can rightly divide the Word, he or she can wrongly divide the Word.

• Next week will be the beginning of a series of messages that will be posted about what people say opposed to what the Word of God says.

Coming up in the next two days – “Valerie’s Testimony/Story (Part 1 & 2)

Are the Children of God a Piece of Work or a Work in Progress? 9-27-2022

• I heard people say they are a nobody telling everybody about somebody who can save anybody. Stop! Jesus Christ was never a somebody! And  you are not a nobody.

• What is being shared today is who we are from God’s perspective. Regardless of what others think or say, what does the Word of God say? For we are His workmanship which means we are God’s masterpieces created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has ordained that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10).

• Masterpiece - God doesn't make damaged goods or even mediocre products. Therefore, from God’s perspective, we are His masterpieces. He never made us a nobody (junk), or a piece of work, which means a complicated, difficult, or eccentric (abnormal) person.

• However, sin changed things. When Adam disobeyed God (Genesis 3:6), sin came into the world (Romans 5:12) and since then, evil has gotten worse and worse. People were/are born with all kinds of abnormalities which include mental and physical, but God didn’t cause it, Adam did.

• We are God’s highest order of creation; made in His image. God is Spirit and soul and we are spirit and soul dwelling in a physical body. Animals have a soul and body; plants have a body.

• Many children of God say, “I’m just a work in progress,” or “He or she is a piece of work. The truth is, I have said both. Depending on how you look at it, from our (human) perspective, we are still being worked on. And it is a life-time process. But to say “I’m a piece of work” is not correct.

• Let’s look at it from God’s perspective. He sees us as a finished work, complete in Christ (Colossians 2:10). This is not something to be arrogant about, it should keep us humble knowing we are God’s as masterpieces were created for good works. When others look at us, they should do so with admiration because we stand out, because of the Holy Spirit’s work in us. They should see the joy of our salvation in us.

• Our good works should bring glory and honor to God since we were created for good works in Christ Jesus. We are on display and all those who look at us should be in wonderment at the way we stand out, shining with a glow.

• Since God so meticulously put us together (so detailed), we should do everything possible to show Him how much we love and appreciate Him for designing each of us so uniquely and for a purpose.

• We are fearfully [made in awe] and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Biologists and scientists say that our bodies are the most incredible machines (masterpieces) that was ever made. This is awesome because what they say line up with the Word of God.

• Please don’t say you are just a nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody who can save anybody. That is a contradiction and there is no contradiction in the Word of God. It is a shame, disgrace, and insult to call Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior a somebody. Would you call the queen a somebody. Whoever is saying this does not know how to witness; Jesus is the only One who can save anybody!

The Essence of Every Human Being is to Feel Loved, Needed and Wanted (Accepted) 9-26-2022

• This is a follow up from yesterday’s message about the blessing is in pressing and how my nieces stick it out until the very end at Pop-up events.

• I love to see other born-again believers prospering and sharing their testimonies of God’s goodness. That’s why many people have been asked to share their testimony/story for others to see how God has worked in their lives. Then people can be encouraged and God will be glorified.

• It does not matter what the age the person may be, God is always at work in their lives. When I share about others, they are personal friends or family members. When I see what God is doing in their lives,  it gives me great joy!

• Now to Saturday’s event that was posted and how I call myself a “tag along.” My niece read the post and she sent me a text saying: “You are not a tag along; you are part of the Dream Team!”

• My message to her: “I love being a “tag along” on the Dream Team.” Some think of us as grandmother (me), mother (older niece) and daughter (youngest). I get a kick out of hearing them say that! The three generational team is a good way to put it.

• I don’t think anyone can imagine how good these nieces made me feel having me on their team and especially in my older age (I never say I am old). Although I am a part of the “Dream Team”, I still like being a tag a long. This is why. Following after something good is a blessing, it can be an encouragement for them to keep it moving.

• And the blessing in it for me is, I look at my latter years being greater than my former years. I don’t feel like I’ve been kicked to the curb because of my age. I feel like my youth is being renewed, and much of it has to do with those who desire for me to be included in some of the things they do.

• I don’t ask them to take them with them everywhere they go, after all they have a life too. They will say: “Aunt Betty, we’re going to such and such place, do you want to go?” I say: “Sure, what time will you be here?”

• What the readers can take away: Putting others above yourselves; not always wanting to stand out, help someone else to be encouraged. It’s all about esteeming others above yourself – The Motto at the YMCA “God first; Others next and you last” Did you notice that the y in the you was not capitalized?

• This what makes people feel like they are loved, needed, and wanted - it gives them self-worth, which is about who you are, not what you do. Brothers and sisters, we should always be desiring to see others prosper in the Lord.

Be encouraged ~ Betty A. Burnett

Hold on a Little While Longer ~ It’s a Blessing in Pressing 9-25-2022

Saturday was a fun day of outdoor events that brought about blessings.

• Some people were not prepared for the cold temperature near the shore, but the hospitable sponsor went home and brought us throws and the inside of the church was also accessible if the vendors needed to get warm.

• Each outside event that I attend with my nieces who so graciously invite me to go with them is a blessing. I call myself “the tag-along” which a God thing, because I meet and connect with new people and the fellowship is so edifying. Many times, the conversations are about the goodness of the Lord. Actually, I ask the Lord to open doors of opportunity to glorify Him.

• This reminds me of a song “You ought to take the Lord with you everywhere you go.” The truth is, to those who are born-again, the Lord is with you everywhere you go (Matthew 28:20, Hebrews 13:5). To me, taking the Lord with you, means that our lights are to shine everywhere we go. As the writer puts it, Let your light so shine (Matthew 5:13-16).

• Back to yesterday’s event in Pleasantville, New Jersey; there were not as many vendors as expected. What I perceive from that is, the less vendors the more people can gravitate to you. Sometimes the fewer people, the more closely knit people become. Jesus said, where two or three are gathered in My name, I am in the midst of them (Matthew 18:19-20).

• From another standpoint, the more people, the greater we should shine in this cold, dark and cruel world. Jesus was The True Light that shined in darkness. Just as John the Baptist was a witness of Jesus the True light, we are called to be witnesses of Jesus Christ, our Savior (Matthew 28:19).

• It’s the mindset, the motive. If God has called you to a specific assignment, is it about Him getting the glory regardless if there is a big crowd or smaller group of people. Is this thing about you or about God? When you have the right mindset or motive and it does not look like anything is going to happen, and you feel like throwing the Towel in, don’t give up!

• Hold on a while longer; I don’t know how long it will take, but “It’s a blessing in pressing.” That’s what my nieces do; they hang in there until the events are over and that’s when a great deal of their blessings come.

Pressing brings greater blessings - Don't throw the towel in!

God bless ~ Betty A. Burnett

Betty’s Testimony/Story (Part 2)  "I am Free " 9-23-2022

• In continuing with my story, after many years of that so called fast life, in 1982 Jesus Christ became my Savior. But the spirit of fear and feeling of being deserted continued to haunt me. There were some real tough times for years and there were a few years of plenty.

• Shortly after the years of plenty, something happened and my situation reversed. In 2015 God orchestrated circumstances for me to live in a place not many miles from where the added root of fear had begun. My circumstances were the worse I had ever remembered experiencing.

• I was in a dark place, surrounded by all kinds of evil: pedophiles, child abusers, drug dealers and addicts, you name it, there it was. The enemy would make sounds to put me in fear and images would appear. This was much worse than that deeply embedded root of fear that I had experienced in the early years of my life.

• I was constantly being tormented and I complained about my surroundings not realizing why the Lord allowed me to be in this kind of environment. Although it felt horrible, I learned to deal with it, but it was still uncomfortable.

• I began taking authority over the devil every day and things calmed down considerably and it was at that point the purpose of me being there was revealed to me. God had ordained for me to be in that horrible area to face, confront and deal with those spirits that had tormented me most of my life.

1. Face it – I was no longer ignorant of Satan’s onslaughts (attacks).

2. Confront it – I was using the Word of God against my enemy.

3. Deal with it – I was ready to be set free by the Holy and walk in victory; you must have a desire to be set free. Some people are in bondage so long that they don’t realize it, they get comfortable being miserable and they are stuck in that state.

Word of encouragement - Although I had those deeply embedded roots (stronghold that had a grip) for many years before my deliverance came, God still used me. But, once any of us are delivered, our ministry becomes more effective.

• Forgiveness plays a major part. My daddy was back in my life at different times and it was like he was trying to make up for those lost years, I still did not shake off what he had done. It was in the year 2000, after my daddy had passed on, that the Lord put me in something like a trance, and He revealed to me that I had not forgiven my daddy. That day I was set free.

• Family and friends, I was set free, no more chains were holding me, Hallelujah, praise the Lord, I am free. I was not released from that horrible place until I overcame those evils that had befallen me, and I began to walk in victory. I said in yesterday’s message that the demons still try to put me in fear, but God is greater than any devil, and I walk in the authority and power given to me by the Spirit of God.

• There is one thing that seems like a hindrance, and that is speaking in public which makes me nervous. But God’s grace is sufficient to sustain me in whatever the situation may be. That could be a way of God keeping me humble. I do speak in public through my innovative and creative writing God has graced me with.

• His ways and thoughts are so much higher and better than ours, and only our God knows what is best. He gave me a ministry of deliverance “Setting the Captives Free,” so how could I function in that capacity if I had not been set free myself. Remember this, because we are human, there is a continual need to be delivered from something.

What the readers can take away from my experiences.

• Even when you do not understand, God is doing something in your life that is much greater than you can imagine. Just let go and let God! Trust Him through it all and you will rise above every circumstance. There is a reason for everything we go through, therefore preparation is absolutely necessary for elevation.

God bless ~ Betty A. Burnett

Betty’s Testimony/Story 9-22-2022

 • I have posted others testimony/story and have not published mine. The reason this testimony is preceding my friend’s next week is because her testimony is so transparent that some readers may not be prepared for it. I am just giving a small dose of a big dose you will read about next week.

For your information, the more transparency, the greater the deliverance will be for someone else.

My Testimony

• What I have been through/experienced is for God’s glory! Most of my life I was living in fear because of some childhood experiences. The eye-opener that caused me to be set free didn’t happen until many years later.

• Fast life, men, and addictions stemmed from deeply embedded roots that was revealed to me many, many years after being in bondage to two things that held me captive. I now believe the two deepest roots were intertwined and connected, which took years for those roots to be cut off.

• To my recollection, this started at an early age, when my daddy walked out on momma, my sister and me. I considered my daddy a deserter. With him not being with us, and since Momma was a domestic worker, it was difficult for her to keep us, so we were placed separately in loving homes.

• Even still, I did not realize how not having a biological father in my life would impact me negatively most of my life. This also had a huge impact on me after I was born-again. I would trust God to a certain point, but not fully because somehow deep down in the inner man, I felt God would desert me like my daddy did.

• While being raised those few years by loving foster parents, another root sprung up that I believe was connected to the root of being deserted. This root was called fear. Certain things I was surrounded with caused that fear to grow and it was so intertwined that even after being delivered that ugly root has tried to take hold on me up until this very day.

• This is how subtle the devil is, most of my life I never knew how bound I was. So, there was this drive to escape from any of my former surroundings. Again, I did not know why I had such a yearning to escape.

• At the age of seventeen, I headed for New York City, the Big Apple, bright lights, a city that never sleeps. That was the beginning of my fast life which included partying, alcohol, cigarettes, and men. I abused whomever and whatever I could, still not realizing deep down inside, that the spirit of fear and desertion was haunting me. That was the reason I enjoyed the pleasure of being abusive. It was like, “I got hurt and I’m going to hurt whoever I can, especially men.” This stemmed from what my daddy did to me.

• There were many relationships, all of them ended on a sour note. Two marriages ended in divorces. I was a wreck and didn’t even realize it. I was messed up, tied up, tore up, and any other up that kept me bound.

• After many years of that so called fast life, in 1982 Jesus Christ became my Savior. But the spirit of fear and feeling deserted continued to haunt me. Finally in 2015 God orchestrated circumstances for me to live in a place not many miles from where the added root of fear began.

• Because of the length of the testimony, part two will be posted tomorrow as you read about my deliverance, liberation, how I was freed from bondage and was longer held captive by the devil.

Continuation of Route 66 on Romans Road 9-21-2022

• Most people that I come in contact with do not know or understand that there are two perspectives (views) when it comes to God and human beings. As you read this message today, my prayer is that the eyes of your understanding will be opened for you to clearly see from His perspective as well as yours.

1. God’s – since He is eternal and God is not confined to space or time, which means everything has always been, including our relationship with Him and our calling (Jeremiah 1:5). We were chosen before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4).

2. Man-Since we are confined to time and space, we see things as they are. The Word of God is written for us to see it literal. However, when one becomes born-again their spiritual eyes are opened, and as they grow in their walk with Christ, they began to see from God’s perspective because He is Spirit.

We are transformed once we are saved (change that takes place by God - we had nothing to do with it), however, for us to see God from His perspective the transformation is continual. Example: We are placed or positioned into holiness; however, we are to practice holiness by being transformed each day.

We are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). This means to pursue the process of sanctification (continue to be transformed, walk in holiness), having the highest respect for God, which will cause us to desire to live according to His standard.

Let’s talk about two key words - Transformed and Conformed (Romans 12:2).

• The Greek word translated “transformed” is metamorphoo. This is the word from which the English word “metamorphosis” is derived. This word refers to an inward change brought about completely apart from the power of the individual himself. The individual Christian is powerless to bring about this metamorphosis.

Example of Transformation

• After a certain time, a caterpillar turns into a butterfly (this is called transformation or metamorphosis). Those who say we are sinners or we are sinners saved by grace, do not understand the difference between the old nature and the new nature. One cannot have two natures at the same time, they either have one or the other.

• After the caterpillar turns into a butterfly, it can never be a caterpillar again. Have you ever called a caterpillar a butterfly, or have you ever called a butterfly a caterpillar? They are not the same again. And once the change took place, you can never tell what it was prior to the change, because they don’t resemble each other. One was beautiful, whereas the other was not, an awesome change took place.

• We must remember that from God’s perspective we are perfect (Romans 8:29-30), and complete in Him (Colossians 2:10). Complete means to be filled to the top. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, old things are gone and behold all things are new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

• The Greek word translated as conformed here means co-shaped, co-formed. What the Word is telling us here is: do not be or become of the same shape, same form, co-formed, with this world. In other words, we are not to take on the same form of this world.

These are two do’s

• Do be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

• Do not be conformed to the things of the world.

• It is a sacrifice that gives a new mindset (a renewed mind). When we put ourselves on the altar of sacrifice and come out of our carnal thinking, it is absolutely amazing what God will do in our lives for our good and the good of others.

Hopefully, you will understand the upcoming messages. I am going to pick up where I left off with “Changing the Mindset”

Route 66 – The Romans Road 9-20-2022

• This is a correction from yesterday’s message. Instead of writing, they continue to go back to the altar to confess salvation all over again (Romans 10:9-10), I wrote they go to altar for repentance to salvation.

• I also want to bring out Adam and Eve and how they clothed themselves, which is a work to get saved mentality. When God covered their sin, that meant He did it all, and they did not  play any part in their covering (salvation) -(Ephesians 2:8-9).

• It has been confirmed by the first road (Genesis 3:15), how salvation began and it is reiterated that the whole world was guilty of sin because of Adam’s disobedience (Romans 5:12). Romans gives the entire layout of the Christian walk, the progression, the assignment (gifts and calling), how the children of God should live.

• As Genesis was the beginning when it comes to knowing what caused the downfall of mankind, Romans is the beginning of clearly giving the understanding of God and His sovereignty, His divine election, how we were justified by faith through grace and the law could not save us mankind, but just revealed his sinfulness and much more.

• One of our teachers put it like this, you start off in elementary school, then to middle school and on to high school where one graduates. See the levels of progression?

• I added that from high school to college and continue with a higher level of learning throughout life. One can even obtain a master’s degree or PHD, and so on in biblical studies through being taught by the called ones and studying God’s Word diligently.

• This book is considered the greatest exposition of Christian doctrine anywhere in scriptures [NKJV - introduction]. Exposition is a comprehensive description or explanation to get across an idea.

“Take Me Back” First Road on Route 66 9-19-2022

• Yesterday, I was led in a different direction, and my confirmation was this: Saturday night and Sunday morning a verse kept ringing in my head - “I was glad when they said, let us go to the house of the Lord” I went to a church and entered through the Family Center, picked up a couple of pamphlets and one read “I was glad when they said, let us go to the house of the Lord”

• Once it was time for the message, the minister was teaching from the book of Romans, chapter five, a series. That was quite interesting because Burnett Ministries “Betty’s Hour of Bible Sharing” is also in the book of Romans.

• From what was revealed and confirmed to me, I feel that certain things are necessary to be written and posted again. Sometimes it takes longer for me to get an understanding about certain scriptures than others. Then I say, “I got it!.’ It finally dawns on me what is being conveyed.

• Two things will be reiterated in the next couple of days, one was taught yesterday. Many born-again believers think they can lose their salvation, which is impossible. However, it is still difficult for them to change their way of thinking because they have been taught that for so long, that they get stuck.

• Satan puts them in bondage when they fall into sin. He makes them think they have lost their connection with God. They continue to go back to the altar to confess salvation all over again (Romans 10:9-10), when they should confess their sins and God forgives them and cleanse them from their unrighteous (sinful) acts (1 John 1:9).

• The reason I am taking the readers back is this, if one doesn’t know where they came from how do they know where they are going? Since Genesis means beginning, one needs to realize that salvation (eternal life) was prophesied (preached) by God from the beginning [Romans is the beginning for the Christian walk].

• When Adam and Eve sinned (disobeyed) God their eyes were opened and they knew both good and evil. They covered themselves with fig leaves to cover up their sin. Sin brings shame, so they tried to cover their shame. But God Himself killed an animal, blood had to be shed to cover sin (Genesis 3:21).

• This was the prophecy: I will put enmity [hatred] between the serpent [Satan] and the woman, between your [serpent’s] seed [those who belong to the devil] and her seed. The woman’s seed [Jesus Christ] shall bruise the serpent’s head and his seed shall bruise the woman’s seed feet (Genesis 3:15).

• When Jesus Christ died on the cross, Satan’s seed bruised His heel, but when Jesus rose from the grave He said, Behold, all power is given to Me in heaven and in earth (Matthew 28:18). He took the authority which means head from Satan.

• Back to the woman’s seed. This meant that Jesus Christ would be born of a virgin. It is through the man’s seed (sperm) that the child is conceived, therefore the woman, a virgin was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit for Jesus to be conceived (Luke 1:35).

• When Jesus Christ was on the cross, He said “It is finished” which meant that our eternal status was completely taken care of because of His finished work of redemption (buy up something, redeem (literally ‘buy back’), deliver someone). In other words, Jesus Christ paid the highest price when He purchased us with His own blood. That was the greatest sacrifice ever made. And that sacrifice our salvation is secured, assured and complete.

• That is why we owe it to God to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him which is our reasonable service. When one understands that they have been transformed (made holy) positionally, but that there is a process of transformation and walking in holiness throughout their earthly lives, they will be free.

Two things to take away from this message

Understanding that one cannot lose their salvation,

and if I had not presented my body a living sacrifice by going to that church yesterday, this message could not be posted today.

How to Walk in the Abundant Blessings of God 9-18-2022

• Has someone harmed or said injurious things about you? (Matthew 5:44). In order to walk in the abundant blessings, forgiveness is of the utmost importance. If I have sin [unforgiveness]in my heart, God will not hear me (Psalm 66:18, James 4:3).

• Having a forgiving heart despite what was done or said against you, shows how mature you are. And the Love of God is revealed through you to those who have ill feelings toward you. This is what modeling Christ is about!

• Not only have we been told to forgive others, but in doing so, colds of fire are heaped upon their heads (Romans 12:17-21). In other words, treating people nice despite of their ungodly actions against you will cause them to be shameful of what they did.

• When we take a good look at ourselves, how many times have we held something against others? The Word says: Let all bitterness [unforgiveness] and evil speaking… be put away from us, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven us (Ephesians 4:31-32). Bottom line, didn’t God forgive us? Jesus said “Father forgive them” …..(Luke 23:34).

• Many born-again believers say, “I will forgive, but I won’t forget.” Why not? That sounds like an arrogant attitude. What has God done with our sins? As far as the east is from the west He has cast our sins in the sea of forgetfulness (Micah 7:19). Why do you keep bringing up what somebody has done against you if you have forgiven the person. The only way it should be brought up is for a testimony to others how you forgave those who harmed you.

• Think about it. Would you want someone to forgive you when you’ve done something against them? Then, it is necessary to do unto others as you would have them do to you (Luke 6:31).

As you walk in love, forgiveness will become a part of your life, because Love covers a multitude of sins.

Virginia Griffin’s Testimony/Story 9-16-2022

Meet my friend, sister in Christ and fellow-laborer in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Virginia Weathers Griffin.

I was born in Greensboro, North Carolina to the late Mr. Lester Weathers and the late Mrs. Geneva Weathers. I am the youngest of three children.

I was raised in a Christian home with Christian values and morals. At the age of 6 years old, I gave my life to Christ. While attending the Greensboro City schools, my desire to teach began and continued to grow. Teaching was not just a career idea for my financial stability or “status quo” it would bring, but rather it was a deep-rooted passion for me.

During my educational journey from elementary to junior high and then to James Benson Dudley High school where I graduated in 1960. It was during my time at Lincoln Junior High that I met Minister Betty Burnett and we became lifetime friends.

I received a B.A. Degree in Education with a major in Spanish and a minor in French from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina in 1964.

I increased my language skills in Spanish by attending language institutes at UNC Chapel Hill, La Universidad International and La Universidad De Filologia in Saltillo, Mexico. I also speak Italian, German and Portuguese.

After graduating from N.C.C.U, I returned to Dudley High School in the fall of 1964 as a Spanish teacher and continued my career at Dudley until 1971 when Greensboro City Schools were integrated, and I was transferred to teach at Smith High School becoming the first African American Spanish teacher to serve at Smith, Mendenhall Jr. High School, and Page High School where I retired in 1994.

After retiring I realized I still had a zeal for working with young people and accepted an opportunity to work at various high schools, my love for working with the Dudley High School community never ended. In 1999 I was given the opportunity to return to Dudley. I just completed my 58th year as an educator.

Since 1965, I have observed countless numbers of graduates matriculate throughout the Guilford County School System. I have had the opportunity to speak into the lives of generations of students by nurturing, mentoring, guiding, praying for families, and assisting families in many ways.

I have taught the Spanish language to Greensboro Parks and Recreation directors and church groups, served as a volunteer interpreter for the Greensboro Police Department, assisted funeral directors in making funeral arrangements for members of the Latino community. Not only do I give back to the community but I also gained recognition for my service.

In 1994, I received the honor of being a master teacher and was recognized by the Teaching Fellows Program at North Carolina A & T State University. In 2005 I received a certificate of appreciation from the City of Greensboro to honor 41 years of service to Guilford County Schools, was recognized in 2019 as the GCS Employee of the Month, and in 2019 was inducted in the Dudley High School Hall of Distinction.

I saw the need to expose my students to new horizons and began overseas tours and home stays for my students, in 1971 hosting the first overseas tour to Saltillo, Mexico. I still plan overseas travel for students and adults. My travel portfolio includes France, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Holland, Portugal, England, Switzerland, and Morocco.

In 2006, I answered the “call” of Ministry by preaching my initial sermon at Anointed Tabernacle Church ,being licensed, and ordained by Apostle Linda Guy is Founder and Pastor. I currently serve as the Assistant Pastor of Anointed Tabernacle. I give God the glory for all the accomplishments, achievements, and allowing my God given gifts to be used in the field of education.

God has allowed me to continue to work as a Substitute teacher giving back to the community and serving with a new generation of students leading by example, instilling good character traits, and encouraging them to fulfill their purpose. I am thankful that God has allowed me to remember all of my students throughout the years.

I am the proud mother of one son Naaman H. Griffin III who has indeed acquired my linguistic skills speaking several languages.

My desire for the readers to takeaway is, whatever your aspirations are, endeavor to do your best.

God bless you

“Changing the Mindset” ~ Right (Pure)  or Wrong (Impure) Motives 9-15-2022

• Several messages have been written about “Changing the Mindset," but that renewed mind comes when we present our bodies a living sacrifice. This is the standard that is required of God’s children.

• I will come back next week Lord willing, with what each subtitle means and if ministry/serving lines up with the Word of God.

Below is a list of a few things for the readers to ponder in their hearts and see if they fit into any of the categories.

The List

1. Is the church (body of Christ) a worldly business or a spiritual ministry/establishment?

2. Is ministering just for a paycheck?

3. What is God’s money to be used for?/Mismanagement of God’s money

4. Is ministering a J-O-B, rather than serving passionately

5. Since all the children of God have a ministry, why are only certain people on the payroll?

6. Ministering to get pats on the back (self-glory)?

7. Lack of understanding  or being carnal (operating in the flesh) – dead church

This is just a start, there’s more!

Coming tomorrow ~ Virginia’s Testimony/Story

“Changing the Mindset” ~ Presenting Our Bodies a Living Sacrifice 9-14-2022

• The messages are finished pertaining to leaders who are considered the head or under shepherds, but they did not have a renewed mind. With them being in that position, whatever they did affected those they were leading. If the head was off, the entire body was off.

• It is time to incorporate the entire body of Christ about God’s expectation of us since each of us is responsible and accountable for own actions.

• I am doing what Jesus Christ did when He said He only spoke what the Father told Him to say (John 12:49). The reason this is being mentioned is because I only write what the Father tells me to write. Everything I write is based on the Word of God.

• When Paul the apostle wrote the letters to different churches, he urged those in the church of Rome which was meant for all the churches then, and for us today, to present our bodies a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service.

• God would never tell us to do anything we would not be able to do, because He gives us the grace to do it. Paul was so concerned for the growth of the church that he was urging them to present their bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God which was their reasonable service.

• Being a living sacrifice means to be obedient, to do His will by studying, praying, and remaining in fellowship. By doing these things you will not be conformed to this world (not doing things the world’s way but doing things God’s way) but be transformed (being Christ-like) because your mind will be renewed.

• Paul went on to say and be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your minds that you may prove what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:1-2). Good, acceptable, and perfect have their own specific meaning, just trying to bring out what is most important for this message.

• When some of the children of God are acting and looking like worldly people, it’s hard to tell one from another. That’s because they are not presenting themselves a living sacrifice. The attention is drawn to the person rather than Christ. The Flashy jewelry, and the clothes so revealing that you can see their “you know what.”

• How in the world is that presenting our bodies a living sacrifice to God? That is downright pitiful, sad, and shameful, yet they say they love the Lord. Somebody sang if you got religion show a sign, which is true to a point if you are born-again, there should be an outward sign of an inward change. Jesus even said they honor Me with their lips, but hearts are far from Me (Matthew 15:8).

• There are people who profess to have been saved a long time and they are still dressing inappropriately. After a period of time there should be a change.

• How can any child of God defeat the enemy or have victory over the demons if they are operating in the flesh and drawing attention to themselves.

• Stop talking about it’s a new day and that’s what the millennials do. Did the Word of God change? The Word says, God cannot change, nor can He lie (Numbers 23:19, Malachi 3:6 James 1:17). There are standards God expects us to live by. This is what presenting our bodies a living sacrifice means.

• In the Old Testament, animals were the sacrifices placed on the altar for the sins of the people. Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins (Ephesians 5:2). Therefore, we have been made alive in Christ and we are the living sacrifices, who are to walk in holiness. I am not talking about long drab looking clothes and cotton stockings.

We are to dress modestly (1 Timothy 2:9), as if God were standing right beside us.

“Changing the Mindset” – Holy Father 9-13-2022

Yesterday you learned what the office of bishop was (not title), and that it includes the five ministry offices of apostle, prophet, evangelist, teacher, and pastor (Ephesians 4:11).

Below is a list of titles that some clergy use

• Clergyman: “Reverend.”

• Anglican bishop: “Right Reverend the Lord Bishop.”

• Roman Catholic bishop (in Italy): “His Excellency, - a title given to certain high officials of state, especially ambassadors, or of the Roman Catholic Church, or used in addressing them.

• The Most Illustrious and Most Reverend Monsignor.”

• Cardinal: “His Eminence.” - an important, influential, or distinguished person

• The pope: “Most Holy Father.” the head of the Roman Catholic Church Bishop of Rome, Catholic Pope, pontiff, pope, Roman Catholic Pope, Vicar of Christ papacy -Vicar of Christ.

• The original notion of a vicar is as an "earthly representative of Christ", but it's also used in the sense of "person acting as parish priest in place of a real person.

• The title is now used in Catholicism to refer to the bishops)- Wikipedia.

• A title of the pope implying his supreme and universal primacy, both of honor and authority over the Church of Christ.

• Supreme and universal primacy? The fact of being primary, preeminent, or more important. The Bible says Christ the head of the church (1 Corinthians 11:3) and God is supreme ruler over all.

• What about Holy Father? Now we know that everybody has an earthly father, but Jesus said this: And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven (Matthew 23:9).

• Clergy are often referred to with the title Doctor (Dr.) or have D.D. (Doctor of Divinity). In recent years they have come up with campus pastors, Lord have mercy on them. This definitely indicates that these people do not understand the five-fold ministry offices, and their minds have not been renewed.

• These types of people are coming up with extrabiblical titles. It is one thing to use a name that means the same as the five-fold ministry offices, but from my experience with some of these churches, they do not understand what they mean.

• If they understood the scriptures, they would never draw attention to their names or a title. Rather, they would boast in Jesus Christ, and Him only. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord (Psalm 34:2).

• These people are similar to the pharisees, whom Jesus harshly rebuked: “But woe to you, scribes and pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in … you appear righteous to others but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy… (Matthew 23:13-36). Please read all the verses. Who are you following, man or God? Follow them only if they are following Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). How do you know they are following Christ? Study God's Word (2 Timothy 2:15).

• For your information if you are born-again, and just in case you don’t know this, everybody is a preacher and minister of the Most-High God (Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 10:17, Romans 12:7). And, regardless of the position, no one is greater than the other. Once the children of God get a renewed mind (imitating Jesus-Ephesians 5:1), great and mighty works will be done to set the captives free.

~ Betty A. Burnett ~

“Changing the Mindset” – Just what is the Office of a Bishop? 9-12-2022

• This is message is a follow up as to how some denominations call certain clergy members bishop. It is considered a higher position, which is similar to being elevated from one position to the next. It doesn’t work that way with the children of God when it comes to their gifts/assignments.

• Some ministers who were functioning as pastors, became bishops many years later, they were elevated to this position.

• Whatever God called us to be is what it has always been, in our mother’s womb the call was there (Jeremiah 1:5, Romans 8:29-30, Ephesians 1:4). However, as one grows more mature in their walk with Christ, their ministry becomes more effective.

• Several years ago, a minister was ordained as apostle, after he had been in the ministry for many years. It was evident that he did not understand that the call of apostle was always there. The apostleship was apparent because the minister established churches. The household [church] of God is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20).

• Many people go to seminary for training and they graduate with certain titles on their names, yet they don’t understand their calling. Clergy are often referred to with the title Doctor (Dr.) or have D.D. (Doctor of Divinity). If they understood the scriptures, they would never draw attention to themselves or feel more important than others, but they would boast in Jesus Christ, and Him only. Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord (2 Corinthians 10:17).

• Many called themselves “Reverend,” while others some were called “Bishop,” they did not understand what either one meant. Their minds had not been renewed; they were operating in the flesh.

Let’s talk about the words Office and Bishop

• Office in the Greek means overseer, administration, and service. The office means the entire five-fold ministry which includes apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher. So, when you see the names bishop, elder, superintendent and overseer, they are interchangeable which means the same thing.

• If any man desires the office of a bishop [overseer]….. (1 Timothy 3:1, Titus 1:9). This means to be passionate or have a great love for what God has called them to do, one who outwardly pursues because he is driven by a strong inward desire. Those whom God calls; He qualifies.

• It takes each of these ministry offices working together in order for the ministry to have God’s success. One person cannot do it all, that is why we are the body of Christ with many members (Romans 12:4, 1 Corinthians 12:12-31).

• Please stop hogging a position and lording over the flock (1 Peter 5:3). Leaders are called to be examples; they are called to serve not to be served. There is only one Bishop of our souls, and He is Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:25).

Passionately serving ~ Betty A. Burnett

Patricia’s Testimony/Story 9-9-2022

Introduction: I met Patricia in 1999 and we developed a close relationship over the years. Our friendship grew into a group of ladies fellowshipping once a month to celebrate each other’s birthdays. Although we are no longer physically together, there is no distance between us spiritually.

Meet Patricia

• I was born in Danville, Virginia and we lived with my grandparents who helped to raise me, because my mother worked hard on second shift at Dan River Cotton mill.

• After receiving my High school diploma, I moved to Greensboro, NC to pursue a career in Sociology. I attended Bennett College for one year and then transferred to A&T College, now known as NC A&T State University. I did not get a scholarship nor was there a student loan, my mother sacrificed to pay for my entire college education.

• Later, I married Lloyd and we became the parents of two beautiful daughters. In December of 1988, a lump was discovered in my breast and it was diagnosed as being malignant. My children were small and I asked the Lord to let me live to see my daughters’ become adults, and I’m still here, praise God.

• In 2009, cancer was discovered in the other breast, and that devastated me. I had the surgery, praise God, I am walking in victory. In 2010, I had a hip replacement; 2019 a knee replacement and through God’s grace and mercy I made it.

• This is what materialized from my breast surgeries. The late Nettie Coad, a friend and a church member introduced me to Nora Jones who was a cancer survivor. Nora was instrumental in starting the Greensboro chapter of “Sister’s Network, INC”

• Black women were not treated as well as Caucasian women on a national level. Nora Jones reached out to the American Cancer Society, but there were no organizations for Black women with breast cancer.

• There certainly was a need for a network for Black women in Greensboro. Nora met the presidents from Charlotte and Durham and they got her involved in “Sister’s Network INC.”

• On July 10, 2010, a “Sister’s Network INC” was started in Greensboro with me being a founding member of this awesome network. We have done yearly walks for awareness of breast cancer, and it is a blessing to share my testimony of what God has done in my life and my body.

What the readers can takeaway from my testimony

Never give up, maintain the right attitude, and keep the faith. This was a high percentage of me being alive and well and giving God the glory for being able to share my story.

God Bless You

“Changing the Mindset” Reverend/Right Reverend – A Renewed Mind Series [Leaders]

• Wow! What a blessing to know the truth and pass it on to others, so they will come out of their old mindset and be renewed. So many people accept what they are told and do not check to see how much truth there is to it. This is especially true when it comes titles the clergy use.

• For instance, Jesus gave the five ministry offices to the church to grow or mature them in their walk, so they will not be tossed by every wind of doctrine (Ephesians 4:11-16). The devil doesn’t want the children of God to know the truth, so he makes them think that once they are saved and attend church, that’s all there is to it.

• Some people who are born-again just want to go to heaven anyhow, even if they don’t learn and understand God’s Word. That’s the reason so many people disregard the truth. God wants us to be intimate with him, not just have a haphazard relationship.

• The reason certain titles are accepted is because of ignorance. As we get to the title Reverend, some do not realize that they are revering (having deep respect or admiration) for a person or thing. Don’t you think God deserves the highest respect? (Psalm 111:9).

• Another thing, how does the title Reverend fit in the five-fold ministry offices? These offices are the most authoritative ones given by Jesus Christ – He gave these office gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher to the church to mature the saints (Ephesians 4:11). Even with these office positions being at a higher level, the person is not, we all are brothers and sisters in Christ (Galatians 3:28-29).

• Jesus operated in all five offices. Scripture references: Apostle sent to establish the church (Ephesians 2:20); Prophet not honored in His own town (John 4:44); Evangelist who preached repentance and operated in miracles with signs and wonders following (John 20:30); Pastor/Shepherd (John 10:14); Teacher (Matthew 5:2). When you see reverend (Psalm 111:9), that means Jesus is to be highly revered (exalted) – Philippians 2:9).

• Reverend is not a ministry or a gift; it is used to make people look important, which stems from pride. Reverend, the Right Reverend are titles that a denomination gives to a bishop. The Reverend is an honorific style most often placed before the names of Christian clergy and ministers. There are sometimes differences in the way the style is used in different countries Wikipedia…

• In the Anglican Communion and the Catholic Church in Great Britain, it applies to bishops. The Most Reverend is used for archbishops; elsewhere, all Catholic bishops are styled as The Most Reverend. And, in some churches with a Presbyterian heritage.

• The title Reverend was first used by the Roman Catholic Church, and later adopted by the Protestant church along with many of the teachings retained from the RCC. The protestant church held on to some RCC beliefs and practices.

• When Jesus told John to write to the seven churches in Asia, this is what he was referring to: Some of the churches still embraced certain rituals, doctrinal beliefs, idol worship, and some thought they were rich and did not need anything.

• This is still happening today. Jesus commended them for their good works, but He also had something against them because of their ungodly practices (Revelation, chapters 2-3). The root of all this evil by trying to be equal with God and sharing His glory stemmed from the Roman Catholic Church.

“Changing the Mindset” - They Must be Out of Their Minds! Who is Chief? 9-7-2022

• I am continuing with this aspect of the series pertaining to “Changing the Mindset” –  A Renewed Mind Series [Leaders], and you will learn how some leaders are taking God’s glory by some of the titles they use like Reverend, the Right Reverend (title that a certain denomination gives to a bishop), Chief Apostle, and Holy Father.

• I am writing about the Chief Apostle first and will continue with the other sub-topics. There are some ministries that say Peter was a Chief Apostle, but I searched and searched, and there is no apostle referred to as chief. Not even Jesus Christ was called the Chief Apostle, although the title is befitting to Him since He had the highest position such as High Priest.

• A fraternal organization also call some men of higher degree high priest and they go as far as calling them the most excellent high priest. They have a nerve to equal themselves with a title that belongs to Jesus only.

• This is really scary, especially when God said He would not share His glory with another, nor would He give His glory to another. Taking God’s glory – sharing titles that only belong to Christ is blasphemous! Why do you think God said He would not give His glory to another or share His glory with anyone (Isaiah 42:8, 48:11)?

• Some may not know how many people have already died for taking God’s glory. Some of those ministers died because it was known that they were put on pedestals as gods. If one would think about how they died, it is obvious that they took God’s glory because it was all about them; their minds were not renewed.

• Back to this chief apostle title and how people like this have not renewed their minds (Romans 12:2). Anyone with a renewed mind knows, understands, and carry themselves like someone who has presented their bodies a living sacrifice to God. They are being transformed and these types of people are humble.

• Although you won’t find where anyone is called a Chief Apostle, Jesus was called the Apostle which means the same thing. Not even Jesus had the title Chief Apostle, but He was.

• Are these so-called Chief Apostles saying that they are greater than Jesus? (Matthew 20:27-28). Wherefore holy brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Jesus Christ (Hebrews 3:1).

• Other apostles did not use the title even though they were functioning in the office of apostle. Paul called himself apostle because he was letting others know that he had been given authority by God. You see, Paul did not walk with Jesus as Peter and James did. They were known and had the reputation of being with Jesus.

• Paul comes on the scene later, saying, I Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ. Out of the twelve books (letters/epistles) that Paul was known to write, nine of the of those had this salutation: Paul, apostle of Jesus Christ.

• It is damnable for anyone in the ministry to call himself chief apostle. The person/s elevating themselves above Jesus are blaspheming the name of Christ. Those who exalt themselves God will reduce, and those who humble themselves God will exalt/raise up (Matthew 23:12).

Changing the Mindset – A Renewed Mind Series [Leaders] 9-6-2022

• I am starting by telling the readers that they may not digest some of my messages, but the Word of God backs up what I write, it not about someone’s opinion. The Word of God is based on facts, not on opinions. So, if anyone has a problem receiving the truth, go to God’s Word.

• This series is to bring awareness to the children of God as to how the Word of God is being watered down, misused, and contradicted by people who are operating in the flesh.

• These people have not been transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2). The next messages are about leaders which is one aspect of someone with a renewed mind, and as time goes on, every aspect of the ministry of God’s children will be touched on.

• When someone is not conformed to the Word of God or they are not being transformed, they might tell you anything, or whatever they have come up with, rather than yielding to the Spirit of God.

• What is even more dangerous is many of the leaders think more highly of themselves than they ought to, when they should think soberly (Romans 12:3). What does the Word of God say about esteeming (to have high regards for) others above yourselves? Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself (Philippians 2:3).

• When it comes to the children of God, who is greater? No one! From my experience there are certain aspects of the ministry that many people think a particular role was greater than the other.

• Who is greater? Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. Jesus was equal with God, but His position was not as great as the Father. When it comes to position, there are levels that are higher than others. Although the position is greater, the person is not.

• The Bible tells us that we should submit to those who are in authority over us (Romans 13:1-2). For instance, the president has the highest position in the United States, but as a person he is not greater or lesser than you. Do not lord over the people entrusted to you but be examples to the flock (1 Peter 5:3). In other words do not abuse the authority given to you.

• Even with the angels, some are greater than others in position. Although God gave them positions that are higher, one is not greater than the other. The five-fold ministry in the leadership position is greater than those they minister to, but again, they are not greater. Even though Jesus was Lord over the apostles, which was the highest position, He came to serve them, not to lord over them. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many (Mark 10:45).

• Jesus did not think it robbery to be equal with God but He humbled Himself….. and God highly exalted Him because He became obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross (Philippians 2:5-9) Why do you think the Word says, Let this mind be in you that was also that was in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5)? He wants us to model Jesus Christ.

• The greatest leader should be the greatest servant (Matthew 23:11). Leaders are called to be servants; they are not called for people to serve them.

To be continued

Have a Blessed Labor Day from “The Dream Team”

• These nieces of mine came up with this name when they sent me the picture, and it is such an awesome privilege that they consider me a part of their business. I really consider myself a tag a long when keeps me youthful when I assist them in whatever way possible.

• It is almost unimaginable as to how I am included in many things in which they are involved. Not having my own children, God has given me many daughters and some sons, who include some of my nieces and nephews and they are like my children. I am am so blessed!

• My late sister Nancy is one of those great cloud of witnesses cheering me on for being involved with her family of several generations (Hebrews 12:1). I am also privileged to be called “Aunt Betty” by innumerable family connected people who honor, respect and love me.

• We went to an event yesterday that was absolutely amazing! Many people showed up, not just for all the freebies, but they also supported Black businesses. It was truly a blessing. The Sponsors went over and beyond and they were true to their word.

• Jayla’s “Warrior Keychains” (self defense) business, along with her mom being the business manager make an incredible team and they have had much success. It has to do with God being in the forefront. Every event they (me included for the past few months) have gone to, God has given them favor.

Pause: Fruit don’t fall far the tree; Jayla’s mom has been a businesswoman for many years. Her story will be posted in the future.

• I pray that “Warrior Keychains” business will continue to have great success. These keychains are to protect females and males too if they are interested. Someone may ask what about God’s protection in Psalm 91? My answer is, did the Word of God say that by Jesus’ stripes we are healed (1 Peter 2:24).

• Medicine also can help with our healing as well as doctors. Wasn’t Luke a physician? Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you (Colossians 4:14). Walk in wisdom; even though we are divinely protected (covered) by God, the devil is still trying to destroy us (John 10:10).

• Bottom line, we are supposed to put our trust in God because He is our Source, but He also uses resources. Whatever comes or go, it works out for our good. Testimonies can result from a bad experience.

Please do box God in, He too vast, God is not confined to time or space, He is Sovereign.

• I pray that Jayla will continue reaching for higher heights in her business and in her third year criminal justice field at Rutgers University, Camden campus where she is excelling academically. To God be all the honor, glory, and praise for the things he has done, what He is doing and what He is going to do.

So happy be a part of the “Dream Team”

My nieces say: “Won’t He do it?” I say: “God Did It!”

Why Many Leaders are not Hearing from God 9-2-2022

•  People are not told the truth when it comes to the Word of God, because many leaders do not know the truth themselves, or they want to keep the people ignorant and be elevated above the people.

• What causes this? The quote on quote ministers have not been transformed by the renewing of their mind (Romans 12:2). In other words, they need a new mindset, their pride keeps them from connecting them with God the way He wants them to.

• What does that mean? Most of these people are operating according to the flesh, instead of trusting God, and leaning to their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).

• When one is leaning to their own understanding it is almost impossible for them to hear from the Lord. How can God speak to someone who has blocked their connection?

• From that, it is evident that these people are not rightly dividing the Word of Truth. For instance, when someone has a dream it has to be interpreted, because it is spiritual. Otherwise, the full meaning of the dream is not clear when it is interpreted from our natural or carnal senses.

• When certain people in the Old Testament dreamed dreams, they had to be interpreted - Joseph interpreted the butcher, baker (Genesis, chapter 40) and Pharaoh's dreams (Genesis 41:14-40).

• Why do you think God wants us to interpret anything from the spiritual realm? Because God loves us so much that He wants us to see things from His view or perspective. However, most people feel they are okay doing it their way.

• When they read the Bible they are taking it literally. The Word of God has to be interpreted from His perspective.

It’s a Spiritual Thing

• Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not by the will of man, but by holy men of God as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21).

• This means they were in tune with the Spirit of God; they only wrote spoke what was given to them by the Spirit. And that still stands today. Jesus even said He said what His Father told Him to say. For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. (John 12:49).

• As I continue to share what God has called us to do, you will read about what some leaders say opposed to what the Word of God says.

Coming soon – Why and What are Being Taught are Contrary to the Word of God

Due to this being a holiday weekend, I plan to resume with the Testimony/Story next Friday.

Have a Blessed and Safe Labor Day Weekend

Being Open to the Truth 9-1-2022

This message is going to be a hard (big) pill to swallow for those who are not open to the truth. I recommend that you get a pill cutter, take one piece at a time so it can be digested.

• From my experience, I have found it to be difficult for most people to break old habits, come out of the tradition of men, whether it is with born-again believers, false religions, and cults.

• Brain-washed people only believe what their leader tells them, this is dangerous. The reason this is so dangerous, the people make a god out of leaders. God clearly tells us that we should have no other god before Him. For you shall worship no other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God (Deuteronomy 4:24, Exodus 34:14). For those who do not know that about God, you need to read His book.

• This message is not about speaking ill of any leader, but if you feel that you must listen to your leader and isolate yourself from others who are born-again, that is cultish. No leader should dictate to his congregation and make them feel like they are obligated to him. We respect leaders as well as we respect everyone else, but our greatest loyalty is supposed to be to God.

• Let me ask you a question. Who made you? And who made the leader? Since God made you and the leader, is one better than the other? (Psalm 139:14, Jeremiah 1:5). This kind of mindset reminds me of the Israelites when they wanted a king; someone they could see, feel, or touch.

• Did you know that God was supposed to be their king? God gave them judges, but they wanted a king like the other nations. Samuel warned them of what would happen once they got a king. And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king. God was going to give them a king who would be Jesus.

• And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. Please read the rest of the verses in 1 Samuel 8:10-22.

• When a leader takes ownership of a congregation of people, he is not being transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2). Therefore, he is acting out of his fleshly (carnal) desires, and one can only own what he or she possesses. Not one of us own anything, the earth is the Lord’s and all that are in it (Psalm 24:1, Psalm 50:10-11) but we are stewards over what He has entrusted to us.

• As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God (1 Peter 4:10). We are not our own; we’ve been brought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20) Example: children, pastors over congregation, houses, cars, etc.

• I am going somewhere with this; it is leading up to what comes out of some leaders’ mouths that do not line up with the Word of God. Yet, the people think it is true because a leader said it.

• I was that way in the early nineties, but I remembered the verse that stuck out to me shortly after my new birth: Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). When I needed a recall, about that scripture the Holy Spirit was my Helper (John 14:26 ).

• Don’t just take what a leader says but check the scriptures to make sure that whatever they, the scripture backs it up. Paul said: Follow me as I follow Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1). And follow the leader as they follow Christ. There is only One King and He is Jesus Christ.

Grateful! 8-31-2022

.• Thanks to each of you who wished Faye a “Happy Birthday” and well wishes. Now, I will tell you about her condition. Faye was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2013 and has got progressively worse over the years.

• My visits to her in another town were bi-weekly for years when I was not traveling other places. On several occasions some of my sisters would travel with me

• Although Faye’s condition was deteriorating, she didn’t forget me. In fact, the staff at the facility told me she would never forget me. In 2020, when the Covid-19 Pandemic had a worldwide effect, things changed because my visits became extremely limited. When she almost forgot me, it broke my heart.

• Later, Faye was transferred to a facility closer to where I lived, and the visits were also extremely limited and people were contracting Covid-19 constantly. I am so grateful to God that Faye never contracted that terrible virus, and she is being well taken care of.

• This is especially important. When my sisters visited Faye two days ago, even though she held a conversation, she was not aware of who they were. She didn’t know or understand that it was her birthday. With this going on with Faye, how many people would have visited? Do you think they would say “No use in going to see Faye, she doesn’t know anybody”

• Who knows when something that is said could spark her memory or snap her back into reality? Who knows that one day someone could visit and lay hands on Faye and she will get healed? After all, nothing is impossible with God.

• On one occasion when a sister visited Faye, the sister mentioned my name and something seemed to have stirred up in Faye. She may not have understood, but my name had an effect on her. It reminds me of being told about people who were in a coma; be careful of what you say because they can hear. When they come out of the coma there is awareness of what was said.

My god-sister and I visited my spiritual mother who had Alzheimer’s and was in a similar state that Faye was in. During our conversation, she became fully aware of who I was and a few days later, she went home to be with the Lord.

• My sisters have known Faye for a few years, but they never let condition stop them from visiting Faye and loving up on her. Think about it, what would you want people to do if you were in that condition.

• Jesus talked about visiting the sick, He ministered to whomever and whatever the need was. Jesus came to set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:1, Acts 10:38).

Thanks again for the well wishes, they meant so much to us.

“Happy Birthday” Faye 8-30-2022

Honoring a woman of God who has been incapacitated since 2013. Cousin Faye is special to my niece Joannie and me, and on behalf of Joannie and myself, I would like to wish Faye a blessed day. Although we are a day late, her special day is still being celebrated by us.

• I have two of the most awesome friends and sisters-in-Christ who are truly dedicated to the cause. These sisters sacrificed their time to celebrate with Faye on her born day with a banner and a balloon.

Pause and Recap on yesterday’s message

• These two awesome sisters of mine and daughters of the Most-High God our Father reached out to Faye by helping her and me. How do you think I would have felt if I had not been obedient and listened to the Holy Spirit when I said I was going to stop helping people and He said, “No you’re not.” Thanks be to God for those  who  had a change of heart  and confirmation from yesterday's  message.

• Word of caution, please be balanced in knowing who and when to help.

Thought provoking

• If we are selfish in helping others, is God selfish in helping us?

• Thanks to Thelma Cheek and Susan Harris-Smith for helping Faye and me by showing their love, care, and concern. They certainly put love into action, because agape (unconditional) love is action.

• For God is not unrighteous to forget your labor [action] of love that you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered [helped] to the saints and do minister (Hebrews 6:10).

May God’s riches blessings be showered on these dear sisters of mine!

Follow-Up with  the Joy of Helping Others 8-29-2022

A few days ago, the enemy was using discouragement to keep me from going forward with the assignment God has ordained for me to fulfill. I have been under spiritual attack because the devil was trying to thwart (prevent) me from accomplishing  my assignment.

• I am sure some of the readers can identify with this message, and someone may be dealing with something similar. The word is, don’t give up, don’t throw the towel in, keep on pushing.

• For many years, I have had the desire to help others, but many times being nice, giving, loving is not accepted by some people. This is what resulted recently from one attack after the other, I said to myself, “I am going to stop helping others.”

• The Spirit of God spoke to me and said, “No you’re not.” That’s when I realized what the devil was doing. Thank God for His Spirit letting me know I am going to keep pressing forward and no devil is going to stop me.

• Satan has already tried to take me out of here, but nothing will happen to me unless God allows it. If that happens, I will be better off anyway; for we are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).

• My brothers and sisters, remember this – If you’re in the will of God, wherever He has placed you, that’s where your assignment is. Think about it, you must be doing something right when the devil throws all his fiery darts at you.

• The kingdom of God suffers violence, but the violent takes it by force (Matthew 11:12b).

 • Please do not compromise your beliefs regardless of the onslaughts of the enemy (Ephesians 6:10-18). Stand! And when you’ve done all you can do, Stand! Be steadfast and unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for you know your labor is not in vain in the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58); Great is your reward in heaven (Matthew 5:12 paraphrased).

• Thanks to all of you who support, love, and understand me. This means you have grown to the age of maturity. Only babes in Christ are still on milk, and this determined by their actions.

Standing firm on the Solid Rock, all other ground is sinking sand

If I Can Help Somebody, then My Living Will Not Be in Vain 8-28-2022

• As I was pondering in my heart about a message that would be one to share how helping others with the right attitude/motive has rewards in this life and in the hereafter. Not too long ago, I was prompted to ask others to share their testimony/story on my ministry blog and it has had good success.

• Those powerful and transparent testimonies have blessed so many people, and until the Spirit tells me to stop, that aspect of the ministry will continue. I was thinking about friends and family members and my personal involvement with them gives me so much joy.

• Going to the beach, moving around to various places with them locally means so much to me. To be able to continue being active is such a blessing. Even with that being so, my greatest joys are spreading the Word of God wherever I am and studying and being taught the Word of God enhances my creative and writing abilities in sharing messages.

• All this is helping somebody as I travel along this journey toward heaven. Yesterday I was blessed to go to a “Family Day” in Winslow Township where thousands of people attended. It was awesome to see how people of all ages came together in unison (no mishaps, incidents) with the same purpose.

• I met other believers and even met a young lady from Greensboro, NC, my hometown who had recently relocated to Jersey City, NJ.

• Jayla and Cheryle (mother), include me when they go to different places as venues for their Pop-up business “Warrior Keychains” which has had good success, thanks to God.

• Thanks to my nieces for including me on yesterday and for all of my nieces and nephews who love, embrace, honor, respect and love me.

If I can help somebody as you are helping me, then my living will not be in vain.

Grateful and Lovingly yours,

Aunt Betty

Lisa’s Testimony 8-26-2022

Lisa is another niece (in-law) who has chosen to be integrally involved with me. We communicate on a regular basis and we go out to eat sometimes. She is very respectful and we treat each other as if we were biological relatives. Without further ado, meet Lisa.

Hello. My name is Lisa Troutman

• I was born and raised in New Jersey. My parents took me to church regularly, but when I got older, I chose to do things my way. I was trying to make people like me because I always wanted to fit in with the ‘In Crowd.’

• So, I allowed my friends to influence me to try drinking some alcohol. I went from drinking alcohol to using stronger drugs which was a part of my life for many years. The addiction caused my children to be taken away from me and they were raised by my parents.

• I am grateful for loving and understanding parents who not only took care of my daughters; but they did not kick me to the curb. I also thank God that my children forgave me.

• I thank God that He picked me up and changed my life after I hit rock bottom because my life was spiraling out of control. I am walking with my head up because with the Lord as my keeper, I have been clean for thirty-six years, and I have no desire for drugs.

• I am attending Camden County College pursuing my career studying Early Childhood Development and Addiction Counselor.

• I want God to have first place in my life and then my family. I thank God for my Auntie Betty for being a role model in my Christian walk.

My takeaway for the readers.

• I want to encourage the readers to put God first in all your endeavors. Trust God and honor Him, because He is the only one who will bring you through whatever you experience. Being obedient to God will cause you to receive blessings greater than you could ever imagine.

• My ultimate goal is for others see the light of Christ shine through me. I pray that this testimony will have an impact on others who are still struggling and feel hopeless.

God bless

Born-Again Believers Defect (abandon) from the Faith? 8-25-2022

 • Yesterday’s message was about people who use the scripture “I fought a good fight and I kept the faith,” this verse has been used regularly at funerals. But did the people really keep the faith? Paul kept the faith – he held on to the Gospel. Three times I was beaten with a stick, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, and I drifted on the sea for a day and a night (2 Corinthians 11:25).

• Paul kept the faith when all odds were against him, he held on to his faith. However, there were some men who threw in the towel when the going got tough. They jumped ship, quit, turned the other way because what they were faced with seemed to be unbearable.

• Let’s talk about some men who abandoned the faith. Peter abandoned Jesus when his life was on the line, but he was sorry and wept bitterly (Matthew 26:69-75).

• Jesus told Peter that Satan desired to sift him as wheat, but He prayed that once Peter was restored he was to strengthen his brothers (Luke 22:31-32). Peter told Jesus he would not deny Him, Jesus told Peter before the rooster crowed once Peter would deny Him three times. All of the disciples also forsook Jesus (Matthew 26:33-35).

• Demas was a fellow-laborer of Paul’s (Philemon 24). Luke, the beloved brother, and Demas, greet you (Colossians 4:14). For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed to Thessalonica (2 Timothy 4:10, 16)

• We don’t know what would happen if something insurmountable (too great to overcome) would come upon us. That’s why we should not judge someone else when they become weak in different areas. It just might happen to us.

The Word of God

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall (1 Corinthians 10:12).

• We should never say a person is not saved because they abandon the faith. God is the One who chooses those who are to be born-again (Jeremiah 1:5, Romans 8:29-30, Ephesians 1:4), and He already knew what each of us was going to do. We didn’t anything to get saved and we cannot do anything to lose our salvation. In other words, we did not choose Him, but He chose us (John 15:16). We responded to the call by the faith God put in us.

• Be careful about saying what you will never do. I learned many years ago what happened when I said I would never do! In 1989, I was visiting family in Camden, NJ and while taking a walk, this is what came out of my mouth, “I will never live in this dinky town again” When they say God will make you eat your words, that is true.

. • Later, the Lord said, “I am sending you back here to live” I said, “You got to be kidding”! And back to Camden is where I went in 1990. Moved back to North Carolina and resided for twenty-six years. Back to New Jersey again, near Camden and absolutely loving it!

• The takeaway from this message is to try your best to remain true to the Gospel. However, if you are put in a situation that will cause you to abandon the faith, ask the Lord to forgive you and He will restore you.

Striving to stay on course ~ Betty A. Burnett

“I Fought the Good Fight of Faith?” 8-24-2022

• I am continuing with certain verses in the Bible that are taken out of context and it is so sad that the children of God do not take the time to check out scriptures and see if they are in line with whatever the situation is.

• To single out a scripture is meaningless if it is not applicable to what is going on, which brings me to the scripture that is misused at many funerals I have attended.

• For I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: finally, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day, and not to me only but to all of them who love His appearance (2 Timothy 4:6-8).

• What does it mean to fight the good fight of faith? To remain faithful until the end by not being led away with the error of the wicked and falling away from your own steadfastness (2 Peter 3:18).

• How did you finish your course? Did you like a marathon runner get trained in the Word and stripped off all those things that would beset you and cause you not to make it to the finish line so that you will receive the incorruptible crown? (1 Corinthians 9:24-27)

• Did you keep the faith? Did you walk according to the Word of God; walked in the newness of life (Romans 6:4)?

• Crown of righteousness – How righteous did you live? Did you do like Demas who departed from the faith because he loved the things of this world (2 Timothy 4:10)?

• What day? Judgment Day – the Judgment Seat of Christ, we will give account of everything done in our bodies whether they were good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10).

• Will you be ready to see Christ when He appears or will you be ashamed (1 John 2:28) because your works were undone and you did not finish your course by fulfilling God’s purpose for your life (Matthew 25:24-30).

• What kind of works are going to speak for you? Blessed are they who died in the Lord, for they rest from their labor and their works follow them (Revelation 14:13). Will it be “Well done, good and faithful servant (Matthew 25:21, 23), or will your works be burned because you did it your way (1 Corinthians 3:11-15)?

• Can it be truthfully said when you come to the end of your life, you fought a good fight, that you kept the faith and you finished your course?

• Will your works really speak for you? Yes, your works will speak whether they are good or evil.

• This is to make you think and evaluate your lives and be totally honest, because nothing is hidden before God: Everything is naked [exposed] and open before Him (Hebrews 4:13).

• Bottom line, when you look back over your life, can you truthfully say, “I’ve Got a Testimony,” because you finished your course and you kept the faith, and your reward will be great because you were faithful!

New King James Version versus the King James Version 8-23-2022

• Yesterday, the message was about misprints or errors in the Authorized King James Version. Let me say this to all of you have heard or think that King James of England wrote the KJV, that is wrong information. The King James Version of the Bible is also called the Authorized Version because the translation was authorized by King James I of England.

• The reason you see authorized is because scholars asked permission from the king to translate the Bible into the English language. I call it the old English language.

• For years I heard a fraternal organization say the Bible was not true because King James wrote it. So untrue!

• My personal preference is the New King James Version, reason being to me it is closest to the King James Version. However, as was said in a previous message, every translation that I have read, have errors or misprints. Whatever translation you use, check it out and see if it makes sense.

• Every Word of God is pure/perfect (Proverbs 30:5) but people are not! That’s why we are mandated by God to study (2 Timothy 2:15) and dig/search into the Word and put all the golden nuggets together. Think of the Bible as a puzzle that has to be put together and one cannot force a piece in a place where it should not be.

• It also takes time and effort to put the pieces in the right place. It is the same when putting the Word of God in the proper place (context). I am sharing a scripture that shows how the NKJV is erroneous and is not the same as the KJV which is correct.

NKJV versus KJV

• For I say through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith (Romans 12:3) NKJV.

• For I say through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought, but to think soberly; according to God has dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3) KJV.

• Most people would not pay this any attention, or they may not think it is relevant. Somebody needs to know that one word changes the whole context of the sentence. This is exactly what I have been writing about, and I am so grateful that the Holy Spirit prompted me to write this message.

• Notice the two verses and how one says The measure of faith while the other one says A measure of faith. There is a vast difference between the two.

The means specific whereas A means any. Example: If there was a room full of chairs and I say, “Sit in A chair,” that could be any chair in the room. But, If I say, “Sit in THE chair” that would be a specific chair, which would be saying sit in that chair.

• So, no one who is born-again is not to think more highly of him or herself than they ought to because each of us is dealt THE measure of faith.

• Salvation is the measure, the gifts are the measure, and both are progressive. All of us started on the same level when it comes to salvation and the gifts. To any of you who speak in tongues and operate in the gifts, be careful. You are probably out of order and that is because of pride, which gives an indication of immaturity.

Saints, you may not think this is important, but to God it makes all the difference when we take His Word lightly. How you treated or handled His Word will come up at the Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10).

Some Misprints s and Errors in the Bible 8-22-2022

Going Somewhere Today? 8-20-2022

As we move about from here to there and place to place, let’s remember who is in charge of our lives.

• Whoever is behind the steering wheel, of an automobile, motorcycle, a bus driver, locomotive engineer, helmsman of the ship, or an airplane pilot, God is control. There was a saying years ago that was on many car tag plates “God is the Co-pilot.” That was absolutely absurd! How can God be the Co-pilot when He is the Pilot. If that were the case whoever thinks like that are saying they are in control instead of God.

• Whoever think they are doing things on there is not acknowledging that God is in charge, and that is foolish. We can do nothing without Christ (John 15:5), and it is because of God that we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). In other words, we cannot wave a finger without God.

Whatever we have planned for today, let’s not forget Who is in charge of our lives.

Enjoy your day!
