Understanding the Significance of Gifts 6-25-26

Using the Gifts Correctly and According to Our Level of Faith.

As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God (1 Peter 4:10). The Lord wants us to use our gifts according to the specific grace that is given to us. Each of us has been given the ability to function in our specific ministry.

Do not neglect the gift that is in you (1 Timothy 4:14a). Strong's Concordance- make light of, neglect, show no regard, without concern, unaffected, viewing something as being without significance. Do no neglect is a command!

Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:6-7). Whatever reason you are not functioning in your gift, don’t take this message lightly because they affect your rewards.

How will anyone know how to stir up their gift if they don’t know what their gift is?

Let’s just deal with the ones in Romans given by Got the Father (Romans 12). Every Christian has at least one of these gifts.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:1-2). Our service is to be to God and not for ourselves.

Serve God with Spiritual Gifts

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,  so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;  he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness (Romans 12:3-8).

Look carefully at the seven gifts and see which one fits you, then ask the Holy Spirit to help you learn, understand, and use the gift effectively to encourage those who He puts in your life to minister to, and God will be glorified.

God also uses people (the five ministry offices) to help with spiritual growth (Ephesians 4:11-16).
