The Role Reversed -We Will be Superior to Angels in the Eternal Realm
Today is a continuation of the series about angels, and how we will be superior to them in the eternal realm. Before I get to the message for today, I am saying this. I am going to continue to put emphasis on how important it is to learn about the Word of God.
If anyone claims to be a Biblical scholar, using the right study tools are important. I will say this again, one cannot just read the Bible and think they can rightly divide the Word of truth. That’s why the Bible may be complicated, contradictory, and confusing to some, but when there is a desire to learn more truths, it has to be searched out and dissected.
For me, the more I dig into the Word, the more truth I want to know. It excites me like a child with a new toy, every time I learn new nuggets.
It is so sad that many people who profess to be born again, don’t seem to have an interest in the Word, they don’t attend Bible study; just go to church and hear a sermon and they think God is pleased. Not so! Whoever has that kind of mindset needs to be reminded that we will stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. This will come up again.
Some people think they know the Word because they can quote scriptures and will even have debates. Quoting scriptures and having an understanding are different.
These messages about angels are important because many people do not understand the role of angels.
Now to the angels.
We will be superior to angels. How is that so? Remember yesterday’s message and that we are lower than the angels at this present time? And that Jesus was lower than the angels in His humanity. Well, that role is going to be reversed in the eternal realm.
Example of being lower than angels
Angels don’t eat; we do. Angels don’t sleep; we do. Jesus ate and He slept. Angels are physically superior to humans.
These are some of the ways we will be superior to the angels. We will have perfect knowledge. They don’t have perfect knowledge. Angels aren't omniscient (all-knowing) like God is, so angels have less knowledge than their Creator.
We will be more powerful and more glorious (have greater glory). Angels have wings; we won’t need wings; all we need to do is think of where we want to be and it will happen instantaneously.
Example
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you! Then he said to Thomas, put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it to my side. Stop doubting and believe (John 20:26-27).
We will be more powerful and more glorious (have greater glory).
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is (1 John 3:2). We will have the attributes of Christ.
It is essential for all the readers to know this. Anyone who thinks they will “gain wings” they are taking the lower status. God has a higher status for us than having the lower status.
