Are You Drifting Away? 10-16-25

My pastor has been teaching a series from the book of Hebrews and oh’ what an eye opener. Later I will post his story and another story about the church that God has blessed me to be in for a little more than three years. I have been a member of several churches, but never one like this. This message stems from some of the pastor’s teaching, only it is the way the Holy Spirit is directing me to write.
Lost your interest? Is church service boring? Have you become dull of hearing? Do you need to feel something different? For instance, emotional high and soon as it is over you’re right back to being bored again. Being rooted and grounded are not about singing in the choir or getting on an emotional high like: “I felt the Spirit” That’s why you shouted all over the place, ran around the church. Anything that detracts from the Word of God is not of the Spirit. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Let all things be done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:33,40). He is not the God of confusion which leads some bewildered because they don’t understand what it is to walk with Jesus. It is not about feelings because they come and go. It’s an inward experience that gives abiding peace and fulness of joy.
The truth is, you need the right mindset. One must really have the desire to change their old way of thinking and think the new way of life that God has provided for you. Some of you may have been like me before my born again experience. I did any and everything in the book of sin. But, when I got saved, the excitement that I had in my old life changed to being even more exciting with my new life.
Why? Even though I had a zeal without knowledge, my born again experience was to learn and understand this perfectly new way of living. I had a completely new mindset, even living in this flesh body, my desire was to give this new life my best shot; I put forth every effort to grow in my walk with the Lord. It took determination which motivated me to move forward.
Many of you know from my writing messages that this Christian walk is exciting to me.
Some people have asked me about heaven because they think it will be boring. It is so sad that many things about our eternal status is not taught in some churches.

As I was watching the CBS Philadelphia News a couple of days ago, the beautiful buildings that were in the background brought to my remembrance what I learned about a new heaven and a new earth and New Jerusalem. Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also, there was no more sea.
Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband (Revelation 21:1-2).
This is where Jesus will rule and reign on the throne of David and we who are faithful will have assignments according to how faithful we were on earth. Even though we have a Biblical glimpse of the magnificent city, no earthly city can be compared to it.

Knowing the truth will change your way of thinking and you will not be the same. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). Think like Christ; if you are truly born again, you have the mind of Christ. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:5a). Whatever you allowed to get you off course, let Christ steer you back in.
