Blind Faith- Evidence of Things Hoped For.

Yesterday I shared the story about our Atlantic City experience which had the New York connection that I was allowed to witness. The billboard at Times Square was meant for me to see; it was not advertising the Summit in Atlantic City but I felt as though the Lord was revealing something to me that was greater than the billboard and the Summit.

This is what transpired on the day of the trip to New York. I drove to the Speedline; we got on the train that was going to Philly to take the bus to New York. Enroute, the train stopped momentarily, and the announcement was made; the train ahead us was experiencing problems, but we would be moving soon.

We were moving again, but by the time the train reached the stop where the disabled train was,  another announcement was made. All the people on the other train had to get on the one we were on. Mind you, this was rush hour and our train was full, when all the other people squeezed in the train was packed. This would take even longer to reach our destination in Philly because so many people got off at different stops.

My friend was tense and said she was going to stop looking at her watch; it seemed as though we were not going to make it to the bus station before eight thirty, when the bus was scheduled to leave. I said, “The devil is a liar” and then began to say “trusting” By the time we arrived at our stop, time was catching up with us. We were walking fast up two flights of steps along with the other late arrivers.

Once on the street, the walk was swift and we were close to being out breath; my throat was dry and I was thirsty. We kept moving really fast and made it inside the station. The attendant who had seen us ta couple of times trying to get to New York said, “I thought y’all were going yesterday. What bus are you taking?” We told him and he said it’s on track three. We thanked him and quickly went out the door to gate number three.

I had looked at my watch once we arrived at the station and it was 8:25am. We got on the bus and it pulled out at 8:30 am. You talking about cutting it close; that was about as close as one can get. The third person who was supposed to go with us said she had other things scheduled and wouldn’t be able to go. If she had been with us, we would have missed the bus. We went to Philly two times prior to Monday, trying to get tickets. It worked out the last time because the Lord ordained for this to happen on that particular day.

My friend’s two sisters met us; one from the Bronx and the other from Long Island. The one from Long Island was not sure she could make it, but the Lord ordained for it to happen. The Lord had ordained for me to minister to the three sisters, who had some family issues and after listening to their conversation for a few minutes,

I said this:

“One of my former pastors said

“Let grace make space for any differences we may have" I told them that they should lay any conflict on the table; ministry took place, which ended up in prayer in the middle of Times Square. After the praying with the sisters,  an old woman who was dressed skimpy approached our table and started a conversation and I said to her

“Jesus loves you”

The woman said,

“I’m a Jew, Jesus was a Jew, I love Jesus and Jesus love me”

She left after finding out we would not do what she wanted us to do. I told the sisters that she was bound by the devil; ended up praying for her later.

The moral is this, the devil was trying to stop what God had ordained to be. No devils are greater than our God! Trust (faith) is a key element- What seemed as though it would not happen, happened, praise the Lord.
