My friends, let’s remember that all of God’s Word is true from cover to cover. Today, you will learn and understand the difference between the two.
God doesn’t Break Promises
He may not come when we want Him but He’s always on time. How do I know God doesn’t break promises? God’s promises are in His Word and every Word of His is true.
Some of the promises in the Word of God:
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
Now this is what the Lord says, He created you, people of Jacob; He formed you, people of Israel. He says, “Don’t be afraid, because I have saved you. I have called you by name, and you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. When you cross rivers, you will not drown. When you walk through fire, you will not be burned, nor will the flames hurt you. This is because I, the Lord, am your God, He will never leave us (Isaiah 43:1-3). I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen. (Matthew 28:20b)
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Why would God break promises when they are to encourage us for Him to be glorified? For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us (2 Corinthians 1:20). God truly gets the glory through our testimony of His goodness!
He breaks Chains
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord (Isaiah 61:1-2, Luke 4:18-19).
The way chains are broken off peoples’ lives came from Jesus Christ through salvation. Before salvation, every person was spiritually dead (bound in their sins), with deeply embedded roots that spills over into our new life. We are continually being set free from the chains (imprisonment) of darkness. The residue of deeply embedded roots are still there, but as our eyes are opened the more victorious we become.
We were spiritually impoverished; our hearts were like stone; we had no freedom, and we were chained behind invisible bars that the devil had put on us.
Now that we have been set free, are we going to allow the influence of the devil affect us; or are we going to stand on the Word of God and believe it from cover to cover?
