Is God on the Front or Back Burner in Your Life? 6-11-26

Watch out! You may get burned reaching over the front burner.

God on the Back Burner – People work endless hours working on two or more jobs, spending little or no time in the Word, chasing the wind (after things). Yet they say they love the Lord.

These type of people come up with all kinds of excuses, that God will not accept.

This is THE WORD of God for the people of God! Jesus said to him, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment (Matthew 22:37-38).

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me (Exodus 20:1-3).

(for you shall worship no other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God), lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they play the harlot with their gods and make sacrifice to their gods, and one of them invites you and you eat of his sacrifice, and you take of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters play the harlot with their gods and make your sons play the harlot with their gods (Exodus 34:14-18).

The warning is also for today; the Lord God says what He means and He means what He says. God is not to be played with. This Christian walk is serious. Some people who profess to be born again are doing any and everything in the book; they are no light to others, both saved and unsaved.

Lip service-  These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men (Matthew 15:8-9). I hope this pill is not too big to swallow, because it might choke someone.

Example: Years ago a sister in Christ stopped my house, came into the bedroom, and fell across the bed. I said: “Girl, what’s wrong with you?” She said: “I thought I was on meat; ate it and got choked” In other words the sister thought she was further along in her walk than she really was. At least she admitted it.

Why did she get choked? No substance, no principles taught, which caused her to shift on the foundation. Many think that by going to church on Sunday the Lord is pleased. What about the rest of the week? Ushering and singing in the choir thinking you alright and “I’m on my way to heaven anyhow!” Really?

Ask you to witness or minister to someone and you don’t know how. What have you been doing all these years. What have you learned about witnessing and do you know what your gifts are?

Yet you say:

“Giving honor to God who is first in my life” and

“God knows my heart”

He certainly does! The Lord sees in the dark, and He’s everywhere at the same time, and He knows everything. Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there (Psalm 139:7-8).

David knew that he could not fool the Lord, and Jeremiah took it even further. The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9).

Saints, it is high time to stop playing church and get right with God. Examination- A quote: You can fool people some of the time, but no one can ever fool God!

REMINDER! God sees ALL and He knows ALL.
