Understanding the Word of God Within the Proper Context
I am coming to a close with the messages about “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God’s” (Romans 3:23). It has been established that falling short of God’s glory is not true for born again believers, neither are we “sinners saved by grace” or “we are sinners” Look at the word “Have” come short, it is past tense. Therefore, that verse does not apply to the children of God.
Also, I shared how the original Bibles did not have chapters and verses. Later they were divided into verses and scriptures. Is this confusing? Not if we use these awesome brains God gave us to rightly divide the Word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). Before Romans 3:23-26 was divided, all four verses was one sentence.
It’s important to look at all four verses in order to fully understand the scripture within its proper context. Paul starts off showing the sinful state of all people, but he also shows the state that the children of God have been positioned in by God.
To further clear up this matter, let’s see what Paul wrote:
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
Internet:
Sanctification -specifically in 1 Peter 1:2. It’s a statement that acknowledges the spiritual purity and dedication of believers.
Justification is a biblical term that means being declared righteous before God by faith in Jesus Christ12. It is a legal term that signifies acquittal, as if a judge declares someone on trial “not guilty”12. It is a foundationally Christian message about how we are saved by Jesus2.
The bottom line is this, my brothers, and sisters, How do you think Christ feels when you say, “All have sinned and fall shot of the glory of God” or “We are sinners” – saved by grace”, when He took away all your sins; past, present and future?” He washed and made you whole! You no longer have the stain and guilt of sin; you’ve been set free indeed! (John 8:32, 36).
I am scheduled to travel for two weeks, and I will pick up where I left off. However, you will be hearing from me, Lord willing.
Grace and Peace (Shalom)!!!
