A Day That is Not to Be Forgotten
Lest we Forget!
Honoring all men and women served in our country, the United States of America. While watching the news, it saddened my heart to see how so many of our people who served this country and were never recognized or compensated in a way that brings them dignity.
There is no new thing under the sun. That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9).
Jesus was treated similarly How was that so? He left His country to serve the world, and many never respected or accepted Him. In fact, He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, and we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. He was rejected and despised by men (Isaiah 53:3).
Let’s never forget what this day is really about! Thank the Lord that a day has been set aside to commemorate the meaning of such an important day. The US flag is the main symbol of Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, and the fourth of July, therefore I pledge allegiance to the flag.
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.
History- the Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1885 after the Emancipation Proclamation (1863) was issued by President Abraham Lincoln on January 1, 1863, announcing, "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious areas "are, and henceforward shall be free."
Many people don’t pledge allegiance to the Flag, and that is the freedom that they have. However, I pledge allegiance to what the flag stands for, despite the hypocrisy.
Questionable:
1) one nation under God – a divided nation.
2) with liberty and justice for all- the lie
Nevertheless, I still say the Pledge of Allegiance regardless of the nation being divided; Number one: I am called to bring unity as a messenger of God.
Number two: every born again believer is free because of Jesus Christ, whether they walk in it or not, that freedom is available.
Proclaiming the Word to bring Freedom to those in bondage.
