Jesus had to be born before He could die a physical death; He had to die and rise from the dead in order that we who were dead in sin (spiritually dead) could also rise from the old sinful life to a new life. You must be born again – John 3:7B). Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Even though today (Sunday) is considered Easter (a pagan holiday), we who are born again celebrate Jesus’ Resurrection!
AI Overview- While Easter is a central Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus, its name and some associated traditions have roots in pagan spring festivals. The name "Easter" is believed to be derived from the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre, who was associated with spring and fertility. Additionally, some traditions like Easter eggs and rabbits may have origins in pagan symbolism of fertility.
FYI- most of the modern translations put the word Passover in Acts 12:4, the King James version says Easter. I searched for this for quite a while before finding information that I learned years ago from a book titled “The Two Babylons” or the papal worship by Alexander Hislop. I thank the Lord for the assignment of searching out so many false things that are accepted in the church.
Let’s never forget what Jesus did for us, He came into the world as a baby and lived a sinless life; suffered during His walk on the earth and died the most horrible kind of death.
Please don’t think like the world thinks when it comes to one of the most important days of our lives. “Happy Easter” (Acts 12:4) is a holiday, however "RESURRECTION" is a HOLY day for me because of what Christ did for us.
The Risen Christ, Our Hope
Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise.
For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable [miserable] (1 Corinthians 15:12-19).
It's because He lives, I can face tomorrow!
