Because of the office of evangelist, I am extremely passionate about spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to remind those who are born again to do everything possible to grow in Christ. By growing spiritually , you will function more effectively in advancing the Kingdom of God. It is also necessary to know what your gifts are.
Peter reminded the Christians in his writing to make every effort to do whatever possible so that their entrance into the kingdom would be greater – Make your calling and election sure (2 Peter 1:10-11).
Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
But also, for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness, brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things, is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:1-11).
The greater entrance has to do with how much you grow and serve in advancing God’s Kingdom, which result in how much one will be rewarded (Matthew 25:21, 23).
This almost sounds like someone would be a math class being taught how to add.

But I also see some fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), which is a major part of our spiritual growth. As we grow in Christ we should also learn how important it is to serve others through our gifts (ministry). Every Christian has ministry in him or her. The main way to identify your gifts is, you will have a passion to serve in that capacity.
If you are not sure of salvation, it will be difficult to witness and minister to others effectively. That is what Peter was putting emphasis on-
“Making your call and election sure.”

The reason Peter continued to remind the church to press forward in their belief is because there were false prophets among the people and they could have leaned toward or accepted the false teaching. Since the Christians were persecuted, they could have been more easily influenced by false teaching.
Pause: Please watch who and what you listen to and be firm enough on the foundation of Christ that you will not embrace the falsities. Peter advocated growth in various parts of his books.

The last sentence in in 2 Peter 3:18- but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.
