Are You Ready to Meet Jesus?

It’s Another Day’s Journey

I had another message that was being worked on to post today, but someone else passed that was a family connection; it was shocking, our hearts were saddened again. The last one was on Friday, the day before my nephew’s funeral. He was my nephew’s brother from another mother. Back in the day when something would happen so many times, the word was “When it rains, it pours” I believe it because of so many deaths so close together.

When death strikes home so many times in such a short period, This should really be a wake up call to those who are not born again. Also, it should cause Christians who are not walking with the Lord as they should, an eye opener. What do I mean about the statement “Christians not walking with the Lord as they should” There are some who are walking according to the flesh; acting like worldly people.

The Word of God gives strong warnings about us not moving forward progressively in our walk. Therefore, we should be serious, so others will see something different about us. We are to be lights to the world, not blend in with the world (Matthew 5:16).

Although we are not perfect, we should be striving to reach perfection (spiritual maturity). The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints (Ephesians 1:18). Acting according to the flesh is a sign of immaturity. We are told in several of the epistles (letters) how to grow in Christ and become more intimate with Him.

Please listen, none of us know when death is coming, so why not consider your lives today. Now listen, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money. Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.  Instead, you ought to say, If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that (James 4:13-15).

And now, little children abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming (1 John 2:28). If you are saved, you will go to be with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8), but you will not receive rewards because you didn’t fulfill the Lord’s purpose for your life.

I don’t know about you, but with so many deaths back to back can cause one to be downhearted, yet the Word of God says-And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). Until our time is up, let’s continue looking to Jesus, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Who is next? Only God knows, so I encourage you to get your house in order!

Today is another day’s journey, and I choose to continue pressing forward, so when that day comes, I will say I ran my race faithfully; I finished my course and I am ready to meet the Lord (2 Timothy 4:6-8). Hallelujah!

I am waiting to hear my Savior say “Well Done”
