The Danger of Someone Teaching What They Do Not Understood 3-10-26

Have you ever been in a Bible Study Class and someone was teaching erroneously? I have, and the reason I knew they were wrong is because I study the Word for myself. It is dangerous to teach what you don’t know. For many years, the Lord has set me up in various places to bring correction to untruths. Not that I know it all. But my Biblical studies go back almost forty three years; of which thirty two of those years the Lord placed a teacher (five-fold ministry-Ephesians 4:11).

I am sure all this intense studying had to do with the call on my life. God calls, but there are also instructions (preparation).

Example: Jesus called the disciples (learners), even though He sent them out two by two, they still needed further training before they became apostles (sent out). And, after Jesus left them and went back to heaven they were still studying, learning more and more, and getting a better understanding.

The Holy Spirit Promised (Acts 1:4-8). Jesus Ascends to Heaven (Acts 1:9-11). The coming of the Holy Spirit -When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.  Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:4) To serve and witness effectively.

This dunamis (dynamite/explosive) power is available to all believers. Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:38-39).

Some don’t understand today just as they didn’t understand at the beginning of the church age. And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus.

And finding some disciples he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So, they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”

And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So, they said, “Into John’s baptism.” Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.” When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.  And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

Now the men were about twelve in all (Acts 19:1-7). Even though John had disciples, none of them were born again until Jesus died and rose from the dead.

JESUS was baptized with the Holy Spirit and His miraculous ministry began afterward; Jesus' baptism was the beginning of His public ministry. And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.  Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age (Luke 22:22-23a).

This particular baptism confirms the empowerment for Jesus' mission and ministry. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Ats 10:38). For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure (John 3:34). He had no limitations when it came to the supernatural.

Please stop grieving the Holy Spirit (making Him sad- Ephesians 4:30); after all you are sealed by Him, and  by restricting (quenching) the Holy Spirit’s fire! Do not quench the Spirit.  Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:19).

No one can teach on the supernatural gifts unless one is baptized with the Holy Spirit. The apostles were not empowered until they were baptized in the Holy Spirit. (These gifts are specifically used in those who are baptized with the Holy Spirit. How would it make sense for the Holy Spirit to move through His supernatural gifts in those who refuse to accept His power?
