Don’t let pride choke you!

This is not to judge but it is a challenge as to whether some leaders motives are pure and to bring awareness to the people of God when it comes to some traditions of men. It is absolutely necessary for God’s people to know the truth, and they will focus on Jesus and not a person.

But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad [like a big Bible today] and enlarge the borders of their garments [tassels at the end of their robes] (Matthew 23:5). They wanted to be noticed!

Let’s imitate Jesus and stop spending God’s money uselessly to purchase elaborate attire which captures the audience’s attention rather the Word of God.

Please stop being like the pharisees whom Jesus called hypocrites because their motives were impure. It was all about themselves and not the people. In fact, they devoured widows’ houses. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore, you will receive greater condemnation (Matthew 23:14).

Women are the weaker vessels and the enemy uses some people to abuse and take advantage of them.  Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered (1 Peter 3:7). How do you think the devil tricked Eve? She was the weaker vessel (Genesis 3:1-6).

The balance- Some went from wearing collars that look like they are choking them and elaborate robes and became so modernized that proper attire is not worn. They have gone so far to the extreme that there is no balance. Respecting the house of God means He is being respected.

Let me tell you about Jesus Christ:  Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name, which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:5-11).

Please stop acting like the world and conduct yourselves like Jesus did! Some people need a reminder: What would you do if Jesus were walking among you today? Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time (1 Peter 5:6).
