Exploring the Lord's Requirements for His People in Sunday Challenge 7-26-26

It is a joyful delight in doing God’s will.

He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8) All three of these words are action, one has to do something, not just say it. This message is for every child of God, especially those with leadership positions.

As I was writing this message, I looked up some words, and AI had the answer that made more sense, so from that the challenge is to help the readers see if they fit into one of these categories.  

Challenge – These few statements will reveal if you are doing what the Lord requires of you.

1)      Do justly-

Act with fairness and equity in all situations. Uphold moral principles and ethical standards. Treat others with respect and dignity. Make decisions based on honesty and integrity. Advocate for the rights and well-being of others. Strive for accountability in your actions and choices.

A)    Betty- Are you in a clique and think your group is superior to others. Leaders- are you shearing the sheep in the winter time? That is taking from them because of your own selfish desires, and preying on the ignorance of people for your self gratification?

2)      Love mercy –

Embrace compassion and kindness towards others, especially those in need. Practice forgiveness, letting go of grudges and resentment. Show empathy by understanding and sharing the feelings of others. Actively seek to help those who are suffering or marginalized. Promote justice by advocating for the rights of the oppressed. Cultivate a humble attitude, recognizing our own need for mercy.

B)    Betty – Do you esteem others above yourselves?  Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself (Philippians 2:3).

3)      Walk humbly –

Acknowledge your limitations and imperfections. Treat others with respect and kindness, regardless of their status. Listen actively and be open to different perspectives. Avoid boasting about your achievements or seeking recognition. Practice gratitude for what you have and the contributions of others. Seek to serve and uplift those around you rather than seeking power or control.

C)    Betty – Are you looking down on others who are not on the same status quo as you are? A former pastor’s famous words: “Never look down on another man unless you are picking him up”

God’s required will for our lives has been revealed in His Word –

Living according to His Word determines if you genuinely LOVE the Lord and others. Please examine yourselves and be honest. Anyone who truly loves the Lord will do all the above.
