How Much Do You Love Jesus?
This is a challenge to test the Christian’s genuine love for Jesus Christ. These are some scriptures that determine how much God’s people love Him.
Some of the commands from Jesus-
If you love Me, keep My commandments (John 14:15).
Love each other- By this all will know that you are My disciples if you have love for one another (John 13:35).
Love your neighbor- Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 22:36-37).
Study- Those who belong to the Lord should desire to become more intimate with Him. (2 Timothy 2:15). This is what it takes to draw closer to the Lord and have the “Abba Father” intimacy with Him, and those who belong to the Lord should have that yearning desire. God gave His best for us; we should give our best to Him by living according to His commands.
Blessings that result in giving - Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you (Luke 6:38). We don’t give because we receive; wee give even if there is nothing given to us. We give because we LOVE!
It is more blessed to give than to receive - I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).
God So loved - We are in a relationship Jesus and we should love Him in return. We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Whatever we do, it should always be done in love (1 Corinthians, chapter 13).
Challenge-Are you guilty? If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? (1 John 4:20).
If you really love Him, there should be some evidence; not saying that we are perfect from our perspective, but our lights should have an illumination. “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
If You Love Jesus, Show it by Obeying the Word of God. Actions speak louder than words; talk is cheap!
