There is so much going on in the body of Christ that is unbelievable and it is rapidly getting worse. Some things that are hitting the public is unthinkable, and they are utterly disgusting. We’re living in times where it is difficult to discern the righteous from the unrighteous. Some leaders are allowing the things of the world to invade the church, and that is shameful.
Since this is Labor Day Weekend, I felt it would be appropriate to write about Labor, and in doing so, these are some scriptures that is befitting to encourage those who are striving to please the Lord. It is also a warning to those who are not laboring/serving to glorify the Lord.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Question-
How steadfast is the church; how immovable (easily shaken by given in to ungodliness); is the church truly serving people and glorifying God, or is the church doing what they want to do and think they are pleasing the Lord?
People, it’s high time to wake up out the slumber and sleep and be about our Father’s business. There are some things that are going on in some churches that some unsaved have better oral standards than many people in the church do.
That’s why the people of God need to understand the truth of His Word. Discern- But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil (Hebrews 5:14). It is apparent that those who are being persuaded to give out of loyalty are ignorant of the Word of God.
Labor of Love – Is the church really laboring in love?
Do they understand what Agape (unconditional) Love is?
Is the church doing like the pharisees and bilking people out of money that they cannot afford to give?
Are they taking advantage of unlearned people by making them feel obligated to give over and beyond their limited income because they feel loyal and want to stay in good standards with the hypocrites?
Let me tell you who Loyalty should be to first; God Almighty should always have preeminence over all. The church that’s built on the foundation of Christ has Biblical guidelines. When it come to money, people are required by God to pay tithes (ten percent of their gross income).
Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; so, your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine (Proverbs 3:9-10).
Bring all your tithes to the storehouse/church )– (Malachi 3:8-10). Proverbs first fruits off the top . God is being robbed in tithes and offerings(over and over the tithes). When it comes to offerings that is personal as to how one wants to be a blessing to benefit someone else. The principle of tithing has not changed.
Serving – means to give, not to take! Do you consider yourself serving and laboring for Jesus or are you taking from others like the hypocritical pharisees and putting people in bondage making them think they are giving benefit the body of Christ, rather than building your own domain.
For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire (1 Corinthians 3:11-15).
I am not saying that you are not saved, but you are a poor example of a child of God. Pleases take heed because- So then each of us shall give account of himself to God (Romans 14:12).
Therefore, we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences (2 Corinthians 5:9-11).
Please take heed to what is written.
