Don't Put Limits on God!

How Far Does Prayer Reach?

In my experience over the years, I have prayed different kinds of prayers, but some were not biblically correct. Also, I have prayed by touching certain things physically, and walking around buildings, being outside of doors, either laying my hands on them, or touching them.

As I learned to pray more effectively, all that kind of praying was senseless. I remember how God spoke everything into existence, and how death and life are in the power of the tongue, I reconsidered some things that didn’t make sense. And in my process of thinking, what made sense.

As time went on, I thought more about prayer and how the Lord had me praying for people I did not know (He named them), and how prying about other situations that could have been catastrophic, and prayer stopped the catastrophe.

The process of growth in intercessory prayer has been gradually increasing for years. Looking back over the years, and that intercessory prayer has been an important part of my life, I see that this call, under the gift of help, has been evident in my life since 1984. At that time little did I know, the Lord was using a person to get me started into this wonderful (behind the scenes gift).

Brothers and sisters, in my experience with prayer, I have seen and witnessed how the Lord revealed and confirmed Himself mightily through intercessory prayer.

Let’s go back to when it started, and how long it took me to get where  I am today in praying as the Spirit of God leads and according to the Word of God. Did the Lord stop using me because I was immature in my prayer life? Of course He didn’t. But, as time went on, I grew to the point of perfecting (maturing) in my prayer life.

You just read my history, now praying God’s way. Is there a specific way to pray, where to pray, or when to pray? And what happens when we are in the privacy of our homes alone, in a public place, with others, on the phone, and so on?

We are to pray according to the Word of God

Way to pray- we can be in different positions. Where to pray – You can be in your car, at a store, or other places, and the Spirit may direct someone to you, or you to them to pray. It will not be where you will draw the attention of others and it becomes a spectacle; this is not a performance, it is serious.

When to pray – We are to pray at all times.  Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Does that mean to pray twenty-four- seven? We should always have a prayerful attitude and be ready to pray at any time. As an intercessor, it is whenever and wherever.

This is what I feel the readers should really understand. Is there anywhere in the Word of God where walking halls, laying hands on peoples’ doors, or looking at someone’s house with our hands stretched out? We should be glad the people didn’t see us. They may have thought someone was trying to put a curse on them. They may have thought someone was trying to put a curse on them. Somebody could have been shot. Thank the Lord for protecting us.

Now that you are reading this message, don’t you think that is foolish, and that it doesn’t make any sense at all? Just plain Foolish!

Remember this, brothers and sisters, we are imitators of Christ, therefore we should model Him in everything we do. After all, Christ intercedes for us. I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word;  that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me (John 17:20-21).

This is what God did! He spoke the world into existence, and we are to speak (pray); not be dramatic. Never forget that our Lord God is supernatural and He moves by His Spirit; who moves in and through us. Therefore, wherever we are, the Lord is moving through our prayers and they are answered wherever we send them to the Lord from. Keep on praying!
