How can one have a grateful heart when their world seems to be turning upside down? When we look around and see all the good things that have transpired in our lives and look through the lens of faith rather than concentrating on our circumstance, we should be grateful to God. If you have a roof over your head, food to eat and clothes to wear, you should be grateful.
Why do I write messages like these when I face my own challenges? The more I write words of encouragement to others, the more it builds me up when I feel down. Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance (Psalm 42:5).
Internet- psalmist's trust in God despite his sorrow and despair. The verse asks why the soul is downcast and disturbed, and urges it to put its hope in God, who is the Savior and the God of the psalmist. The verse also implies that the psalmist will praise God again in the future, as he has done in the past.
Very seldom will anyone see me with a sad countenance, even when some of them know that I am going through some challenges. It is sad for Christians to have a sad face, or a mean look. What kind of attitude is on display? It gives every indication that the person is miserable. There is nothing miserable about me; I praise God in the midst of my circumstances.
The reason I overcome whatever the devil afflicts me with is, because I stand on the Word of God. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. (Psalm 34:19). And, for every situation, I find a solution in the Word. That’s why it’s important to know and understand God’s Word.
As we approach tomorrow, why not remember all the things that we’ve been blessed with to be thankful for, whether they seemed to be favorable or unfavorable because it could have been worse. Give thanks in every situation because something good always results from it. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28).
Pray for those who don’t have hope; pray for the homeless, sick, prisoners, and for those who don’t have hope.
Have a blessed pre-Thanksgiving Day
