It is More Blessed to Give Than to Receive
Yesterday, I was on the phone with a friend and said that another friend was going to the mall; because I needed a blouse. The person said, “I’m going to Cash App you such and such.” I said, "that will also be enough for sandals.”
When my friend who was riding with me saw the amount on Cash App, there was more money than what had been told to me. The giver friend went over and above my expectations! What a Mighty God! He is incredibly amazing!
I began to tell my friend that God had the right blouse, and walking sandals that were for me with my name on them, and what God has for me is for me. It happened! Plus, there was a robe I had admired at my surgeon’s office that they provided for the patients to put on to be examined.
Guess what? I had said quite some time ago that He would put the right robe in my path, and there it was.
In addition to that, a pair of navy Bermuda shorts; a color I didn’t have was right in my view. I said to my friend on the way home, “I think that is all I need; I’m going to hook these sandals up to match what I have and make it work. Guess what! It worked.
We often talk about the joy that is felt when you are a blessing to someone else in whatever way. I also called the person and shared how much of a blessing it was to receive the abundant blessing. I texted pictures of the items that were purchased to my friend.
I shared with my friend who was with me, how God has different people in our lives for different reasons; it’s always to be a blessing, even if it’s iron sharpening iron- As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend (Proverbs 27:17).
These scriptures are what I am quoting when it comes to how the Lord worked in my life yesterday. Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4)- this lines up with what God’s will is for us.
I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread (Psalm 37:25). I didn’t ask; the blessing was showered on me. And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). My Abba Father (Papa/Daddy) takes good care of me (Psalm 23).
There are times when we can ask if it’s for the right reason. God does work in various ways ask if it becomes necessary. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures (James 4:3).
Home - When we arrived at the apartment complex, some tenants were outside, I also shared with them how the Lord had used a friend to be a blessing to me. They got excited too, and I pray that by me sharing the goodness of the Lord, that the readers will get excited, trust God, and walk in obedience. You too will understand that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
Although that is true, there is the law of reciprocity- sowing and reaping. We reap what we sow (Galatians 6:7). You don’t have to look for it, but it comes- Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you (Luke 6:38).
You can’t beat God giving, n o matter how hard you try; the more you give the more He gives to you. I’m a living witness! Reaping my earthly rewards along with persecution.
