I interviewed my pastor a couple of months ago to write his testimony of God’s goodness, and I felt that the Spirit would have me to write about the church first. This has been in my spirit for many months, and now it is time to share with the readers what I have experienced.
On Saturday, October 18, 2025, text messages were going back and forth with a friend, and some of our past experiences were shared. My friend did not understand why the Spirit led the two of us to a certain church (at different times), because it was such a bad experience for both of us.
I replied with this: “Later in my walk with the Lord, I understood that every church the Spirit led me to, there was a purpose.” That “So and So” church was not the only bad church I had been in. No church is perfect but that much out of godly character was not acceptable.
If I had not been in those eight churches, my ministry would not be what it is today. All the bad and ugly experiences were for my good and for the good of all those He assigned me to minister to. The different denominations also taught me to search the truth for myself in order to have a balanced life.
CAUTION: There a big difference in church hopping and being led by the SPIRIT of GOD!
On Sunday morning, October 19, 2025 , and as I went to my daily reading, this was further confirmation that the Spirit of the Lord wants me to post this series about “The Spirit Being Our Guide” – The reading from Charles Stanley’s In Touch: Jesus was the perfect example of a Spirit led life. Since we are to follow in His footsteps, would it make sense for us to meet with God in preparation for the day (Psalm 5:3)?
The written Word- Jesus spent time with His Father. Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed (Mark 1:35). My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up (Psalm 5:3).
Although these scriptures are putting emphasis on the morning and early, this does not mean that we are not to pray at other times. My prayer partners and I have been praying and interceding for twenty four years on behalf of others, about 5 am four days a week. Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart (Luke 18:1). Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:16).
We know that people don’t pray twenty-four seven; the emphasis is to have a prayerful mindset (heart) and don’t give up; be persistent in your prayer life.

This series will start from the beginning of my walk with the Lord until this present time. It will give a better understanding of being led by the Spirit of God, rather than leaning to your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
To be continued.
