Let the Righteous Strike Me! 8-19-26

A Spiritual Slap is Good when it becomes necessary.

While reading my daily verses on Sunday, this verse really hit me like a ton of bricks, because it is in line with the messages for this week. God is awesome and He confirms His Word. When the Word says righteous it could be Christian that is listening to the Spirit and knowing when the time is right.

However, this message is prophetic in the sense that it relates to a specific person, but it can also be to a general audience to warn, correct, which brings edification. This means many will take heed and change, and that truly is edifying, praise the Lord!

Let the righteous strike me; it shall be a kindness. And let him rebuke me; it shall be as excellent oil; let my head not refuse it (Psalm 141:5).

Break down of the scripture-  Before explaining, it is good to know that words mean different things depending upon the context. Sometimes the word/s can be quite complex. In this verse, one of the meanings of kindness is rebuke.

Let the righteous strike me- The righteous are God’s children, those who are born again and have been give eternal life (a new life- 2 Corinthians 5:17).

It shall be a kindness –He or she knows it’s coming from a person who is genuinely concerned.

And let him rebuke me- the prophet corrects and warn. It shall be as excellent oil- brings healing and  deliverance.

Let my head not refuse it- A humble person will be open to receive correction. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).

Betty- God speaks in different ways and if we doesn’t listen; He still does whatever possible to get our attention because He loves us so much. God sends people but they should be mature and know how to minister, when to minister and wait for the right timing.

Example: I was listening to what was supposed to be a prophetic word and the person told people that the Lord said He was going to kill them and some are already dying. The people that the person addressed were supposed to be saved. It was difficult for me to digest that.

Most scriptures I know that relates to a Christian getting way out of line with God was to make them come to their senses and be restored back into fellowship. God is the God of restoration, and He gives life; He is not the taker of life.
