Do Human Beings Become Angels?
Yesterday message was pertaining to the erroneous saying when someone dies, “they receive their wings” Today, I want to share with the readers the Origin of the erroneous misinterpretation
Now there were seven brothers with us. The first died after he had married, and having no offspring, left his wife to his brother. Likewise, the second also, and the third, even to the seventh. Last of all the woman died also.
Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her. Jesus answered and said to them, you are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection, they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like angels of God in heaven (Matthew 22:25-30). We will be sexless, just as the angels are sexless. The next message I share will be about the angels and how we are lower than them at this present time, but we will be supeior to them in the eternal realm.
There are words that stand out that I call “keywords” which are very meaningful and those words should really be processed and thought through. For instance, the scripture never said we would be angels, it said we would be like angels. That makes a big difference. The word is “LIKE” in the NKJV, which means to have the same characteristic (having the same characteristics or qualities as; similar to). In the KJV, the word is “AS,” meaning in the way or manner.
My brothers and sisters, words can change the entire meaning of a sentence. Not only that, we should look at the verses that precede a verse and look at the verses after a particular verse. Never isolate or single out a scripture and think you will have the full meaning.
So instead of thinking about gaining (receiving) wings, I want you to consider what the rewards will be. It is vitally important to know that doing the will is how we gain rewards. It is also important to know that we can lose rewards for not doing the will of God.
I shared some examples yesterday about not asking God for the mate He has for you; how we manage our finances and using our gifts to encourage others. God is glorified when we are obedient to Him.
This another example of not doing God’s will - building on the wrong foundation.
For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.
If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire (1 Corinthians 3:11-15).
What is the Day? Judgment day! For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be paid back according to what he has done while in the body, whether good or evil (2 Corinthians 5:10).
The next message I share will be about the angels and how we are lower than them at this present time, but we will be superior to them in the eternal realm.
