Learning principles is thee only way one can grow.

For though by this time, you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.  For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.  But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil (Hebrews 5:12-14).

Growth takes time; it is not an instant like a microwave oven. The microwave (something natural) was designed to cook or heat food quickly. Although microwaves ovens are not supposed to be harmful, your spiritual growth is harmful if you’re not learning the principles of God’s Word first. Personally, I use an air fryer oven because it cooks or heats up food slower like a real stove, and it is less costly. The

microwave cooks faster and many times the texture and taste are not the same.

The process of growth- but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen (2 Peter 3:18).

Add to your faith:

Growth in Faith - But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, adding to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  For he who lacks these things, is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;  for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:5-11).

Notice the steps that  you are taking. It’s like walking up some stairs, you take one step at a time. Caution: running up the steps or skipping steps can be harmful; you just might slip and really hurt yourself.

Look at the process:

Add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to  perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. Some of the words are the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

The process of Growth starts with:

Virtue moral excellence (most of us had good morals before salvation), so we add the virtue with spiritual excellence.

Example:  Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel (Daniel 12:5a).

Princeton’s WordNet: the quality of doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong.

Knowledge (Growing gradually will increase knowledge (2 Peter 3:18). Having the right kind of knowledge is a comprehensive, God-centered way of life marked by reverence, devotion, and practical obedience knowledge helps to develop our fruit, of which one is self-control.

Perseverance to have patience; endurance (patience is a fruit).

Godliness  is a comprehensive, God-centered way of life marked by reverence, devotion, and practical obedience.

Brotherly kindness warm affection toward others (Ephesians 4:31-32)- the word Philadelphia means brotherly love.

What happens when these fruit and attributes are not seen in your life?. Being assured of your salvation will keep you from stumbling (falling down the steps and hurting yourself).

The great entrance into the everlasting kingdom has to do with your rewards; how faithful and obedient you walked in your calling. Taking these steps will determine if you are a mature Christian.
