Little Understanding, Little Effectiveness!

A Lack of Understanding Hinders Spiritual Growth

Before I post the scripture that is misinterpreted in Acts 4:12, it is necessary to do and introductory when it comes to having a lack of understanding when it comes to the Holy Spirit. Like the Father and the Son, He has always been and He will always be!

Shortly after my new birth, the King James Version was all I was familiar with and many years later other versions became part of my collection of Bibles. Even with that being so, I still keep the King James version close to me when studying.

This is my personal choice; in reading some of the newer translations, some things are either added or deleted.

But to know that, one has to have some knowledge of the Word. For instance, in searching for confirmation while studying and preparing my messages, most of the time the first site comes up is AI. I am very careful with some of the answers. That’s why I said one must have some knowledge; because everything that is on the internet is not true.

Another point is errors in the King James Bible, which is a major concern. This is a major error: The Spirit itself bearish witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:  Likewise, the Spirit also heelpath our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:16, 26).

However,  it changed in the New King James Version:  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:16, 26).

Up until the mid 1990’s I would hear saved people call the Holy Spirit -it. That was an insult ! I am understanding more clearly why the Holy Spirit is grieved and quenched. Not only does the Holy Spirit convicts people (shows them they are committing sinful acts), but the Holy Spirit also baptizes us into the body of Christ (salvation),  we are sealed by the Him; that is the assurance of salvation being forever, and nothing can change it.

The Holy Spirit represents fire - each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.  If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.  If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire (1 Corinthians 3:13-15).

You may ask what does not understanding the Holy Spirit have to do with works? The Holy lives in you and He gives every child of God the ability to fulfill his or her destiny.  Bottom line, it is up to each individual to learn about the importance of the Godhead and accept Godhead fully.
