The reason there is a deviation of what I felt should be posted next; is because of the attacks and afflictions from evil forces that are continually buffeting me. This is for all those who trust and obey God to the best of their ability. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution (2 Timothy 3:12)
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you (Mathew 5:10-11).
This happens when you: “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven (Matthew 5:13-16).
So, Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial, which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you; but rejoice inasmuch as you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, that, when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy (1 Peter 4:12-13). The devil hates us and he uses others to come against us. Yet, for everything the Lord allows us to go through when we suffer for Christ sake, we not only get rewarded in heaven, but some rewards also come right here on earth.
Jesus answered and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life (Mark 10:29-30).
I believe Jesus Himself made it clear as to what the scripture meant. “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me (Matthew 10:34-39).
This means when we must be willing to let go of whatever many be hindering our walk with Christ. This walk is not without cost. Jesus paid the ultimate price, and we will pay a price too if we totally commit to Him. By Jesus setting various be between family members to my understanding it those who are unsaved. Although Christians strive to do the Lord’s will, we still make mistakes and bad choices, not making excuses. This is not to make excuses, but nothing good is in the flesh (Romans 7:18). And since we are living in a fallen world we are subject to fall into sin (we are not sinners, we are saints).
From what is written above, let it be known, that some may not approve of what is written, but check the Word of God! That’s my proof; the truth needs to be told because so many people are being deceived, and they need to be aware of who and what they are following. Therefore, the next few messages are to bring awareness to those who are ignorant of the Word.
As I was reading from Charles Stanley’s IN TOUCH, this was the topic- “The Cost of Discipleship” and that confirmed what the Spirit revealed to me. Jesus never painted a pretty picture when He called His people to follow Him. He stated quite plainly that becoming His followers would require self denial, sacrifice, and suffering. Following Jesus means that He directs our life. We give up our rights to whatever we want and instead, submit to His will.
