The Road to Restoration: Celebrating the Changes

Suzanne and Betty

This girlie and I met around 2016 at a church in the town where we both resided. We bonded immediately and for the next five years our friendship flourished. Trips to the mountains in North Carolina, to her hometown (Tarboro), and the famous African American town of Princeville next door to Tarboro.

Lillington was another place we traveled together to visit my cousin in a Nursing Home. She also was a part of our Women's fellowship.

Suzanne and her husband visited me often; we would sit out in the front of my house and enjoy meals and fellowship.

She helped me to beautify the outside of the house; one day a couple of the other sisters and brothers celebrated my birthday, which was a blast! On another occasion, she and another friend surprised me on my birthday at a restaurant. We took trips to Burlington and to Chapel Hill; her husband was our chauffer during those trips. Suzanne and Frank were also involved in my ministry for a short time.

Biblical example of separation and restoration is Paul and Barnabas.

1)      Set apart for ministry:

As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away (Acts 13:2-3).

2)      Separation:

Then the contention became so sharp that they parted from one another. And so, Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus;  but Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended by the brethren to the grace of God (Acts 15:39-40).

3)       Restoration:

Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working? (1 Corinthians 9:6). I believe Paul was telling the church that he and Barnabas had the right to be supported financially.

Somebody really needs to take heed to this testimony about hurt, pain and separation which leads to unforgiveness, and how God can and will restore.

Moral- Harboring ill feelings against someone causes major problems- prayers not answered; hinderance in ministry- it is even more dangerous to take communion when there is division – sickness and can cause physical death – (1 Corinthians 11:17-34).

If you have unforgiveness, please get it right with the Lord and the person/s so you can prosper and be in health (3 John 2).

On behalf of Suzanne and Betty, we are so vey grateful to God for restoration!

PS. Oh how we look forward to the day the Lord will open the door for Suzanne to visit me in Lindenwold
