Part 2 of My Ancestral Roots 9-27-2023
Yesterday I shared the dream that was given to me to search out my ancestry on my mother’s father side. I also had a dream about a specific church, I would be a member of after my move back to North Carolina.
Stop! For those who don’t believe God speaks through dreams, study the Word of God. Joseph had a dream (Genesis, chapter 37), Paul had vision: And a vision appeared to Paul in the night (Acts 16:9a, 2 Corinthians 12:1).
Peter prophesied: And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy (Acts 2:17). This was also written by the prophet, Joel 2:28-29.
When I moved back to Greensboro, I was asked to become a member of a certain church, and that did not materialize. One day, while washing dishes I heard the Spirit say, “Don’t join a church in Greensboro,” and I didn’t.
I was introduced to a pastor friend of my mother, and he asked me to visit his church. I said to him, “If the Spirit leads me to” One Sunday God orchestrated circumstances and I ended up visiting the church where the pastor of that church had asked me to visit.
A description of the Sunday school classroom and the teacher were in the dream, but I did not realize it until the 11 o’clock service when the pastor stepped up to the podium and it was then that the entire dream unfolded. I ask the Lord to help me not to say “O my God” the way it is being used today. But I was in such unbelief until “O my God” was in my thought.
I became a member of the church and later found out that almost half the people in the church were my relatives. It was amazing how the Lord put me in a place to learn about my grandmother’s relatives. There I was in another place which was also in another county striking gold.
In the previous message, the words were “I hit a gold mine” this time I am saying “striking gold” I remember in the dream; it was revealed to me that there would be nuggets for my pursuits. That part has not materialized yet, or maybe the nuggets are helping someone else know how important their family history is.
Having the passion to read, research and write is rewarding to me, and that truly is like gold alone, is a nugget to me. It is so important to know where one fits in the body of Christ, so others can be encouraged.
It is mind boggling to see what the Lord is doing. A friend of mine used to say “He never ceases to amaze me” that statement is so true; God is amazing!
Back to my experience at that church, I stayed there until my assignment was over, but memories never ended of my divine connection with Grandma’s family.
Nor can I forget the awesome, strong, loving, and praying woman my grandma was. She was the greatest role model in my life. That’s why my memories of her are so precious and long- lasting.
