Comments made about the post pertaining to “Tattoos” and what the Word of God says about cutting our beautiful bodies. The meat of the message was not about people who have tattoos, but it was to caution others not to change the way God made them.
The message was about a leader who promoted tattoos. The warning was also to those who are being influenced by anyone who is not teaching the Word of God correctly.
Thanks to both kinds of replies, because it moved me to think. A couple of replies were in agreement but they also said God forgives, which is true, but the point was about the leader promoting tattoos. Brothers and sisters, teaching something that does not line up with the Word of God is not justifiable.
James wrote it like this: My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment (James 3:1).
One of the sisters sent me this scripture: But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea (Matthew 18:6).
Excerpt from Explaining the Bible - This warning speaks volumes about the gravity of sin and the immediate consequences tied to it. By using vivid imagery of a millstone, Jesus illustrates the seriousness of wrongdoing. A millstone was a large stone used for grinding grain, and being tied to one and thrown into the sea depicts a horrific end. Here, Jesus shows that causing others to stumble in their faith can lead to severe judgment.
When I told the young lady what the Bible said about tattoos, it was never to judge or bring her into condemnation, it was the truth. I believe once she heard the truth, no more tattoos were put on her body.
God wants us to tell the truth and not be sugar-coaters. Too much sugar will do a lot of damage; it’s like a dessert that is not nutritious, it causes more harm to the body. If we sugar coat the truth of God’s Word, it causes spiritual damage.
Praise the Lord that additional information that was provided.
