Soaring!

March is Women's History Month

Many of you who know me also know that this message celebrating Women’s History Month will be two-fold. It is necessary for me to put God in this message since everything was initiated by Him.

First of all, nothing can be done unless God permits it to happen. Who do you think put it in the heart of people to come up with these ideas? We must remember that - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning (James 1:17).

Yet, there are consequences when people disobey God, and this is so because of what Adam did when he disobeyed God. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for on the day that you eat of it you shall surely die (Genesis  2:17).

When God created Adam, He also made a woman from Adam’s ribs. It was never God’s plan for a woman to be of lower status than man; she was his helper. And the LORD God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him (Genesis 2:18). It took both the man and the woman to produce children.

If I am helping someone, it does not mean that I am of a lower status than them. However, there is a difference when it comes to the role of male and female. Since the woman is considered the weaker vessel, she was not made to do the same thing a man does.

Many scriptures have been misinterpreted, and it gives the wrong image of God. For instance, in ministry, women are not allowed to function in certain capacities. I agree as long as the Word is rightly divided. Plus, God does not have respect of persons (Romans 2:11).

Many women are trailblazers, for years they were not considered first class citizens. One must know the language and the culture of the people, who God is talking to and whether people are still bound by the law or free because of Grace. Mixing the two will not work.

I thank God for my deceased mother who played the most important role in my life, I came from her womb, and that speaks volumes. Although some women like our grandmas, mothers, sisters, or aunts had not been nationally recognized for their awesome role, memories should still remain in our hearts.

Thank God for all men who recognize, celebrate, and honor women who have made so many contributions to society. I also thank the Lord for the men who honor and respect all these awesome females that God has made for a purpose.

Ps. To all my nieces, cousins, friends (sisters in Christ) we are included in Women’s Month too! Let’s Soar - RISE!
