Should Christians Compromise With The World?
And to the angel [pastor] of the church in Pergamos write, These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan’s throne is. And you hold fast to My name and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.
But I have a few things against you because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. Thus, you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it (Revelation 2:12-17). The meaning of A name written in Stone will be in a future message.
John was given the message to write to the seven churches in Asia. It also applied to the church today. The warning was to the church of Pergamos who started off right but the started compromising.
Notice that after the letter was written to the last church, that Jesus told John to come up here, meaning the rapture. This was a strong warning for the church to get back on track before Jesus returns (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
And now, little children abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him at his coming (1 John 2:28). There are several parables that say the same thing confirming that the people of God were not prepared to meet Jesus because they didn’t serve God’s purpose in their lives and they will not be rewarded because of their unfaithfulness.
There are so many ways the devil use to lure and trap Christians to compromise their spiritual values. The younger generations are especially drawn into these evils that attract their attention that are destructive. The decorations even look dark and evil; Jesus came into a world of darkness to bring light (John1:1-5). We are to let our light shine before men that they will see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:13-16).
The Bible explicitly tells us that the devil transforms himself as an angel of light- And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). The most evil celebration is Halloween. Many do not know what transpire on that day – children captured and used for sacrifices- think about all the missing children that are reported missing and are never found.
Tell the youth the truth, take this time to educate them- The essence of Halloween clashes with the concepts of light and darkness in Scripture. Ephesians 5:8 asserts, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light. Halloween encourages reveling in darkness by celebrating fear and horror.
Halloween glorifies the devil! Yet, I have believed for many years that the Christian churches can use alternatives to celebrate on the same night as a way of ministering to the children, and this keeps them in a safe haven. Please bear this in mind, celebrating Halloween is not cute nor is it innocent.
Bless all the children in Jesus name.
