The Powerful Experience of New Birth

Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’  The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit”(John 3:5-8).

The Spirit is compared to the wind; He is not seen, but like the wind, HE is Powerful!

The Holy Spirit is the One who baptizes (brings) us into Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13).

This is vitally important for all born again believers to know- One can say all kinds of evil against Jesus the Son, but to reject the Holy Spirit one can never be saved.

The Unpardonable Sin “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.  Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come (Matthew 12:31-32).

Rejecting the Holy Spirit is the dangerous thing anyone can do.

This is a short comparison of  how some religious groups and cults view the Holy Spirit, and how they different from Christianity.

The Holy Spirit is not an invisible active force from Jehovah; He is the third person of the Godhead.

Some deny that He exists; others say the Holy Spirit is she (feminine). Jesus said But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you (John 14:26, 15:26).

One group believes that the Holy Spirit and the Holy Ghost is not the same. Language – Ghost and Spirit have the same meaning.

It is important to know the Spirit’s role in the Old and New Testament; that He is the same Spirit who moved upon the prophets, priests and kings that moved upon and empowered them to perform assignments, but He could not live in anyone until Jesus resurrected from the dead (Romans 8:11).

He is the same Spirit who empowered Jesus Christ; Prophet, Priest, and King – Jesus had the Spirit without measure (John 3:34) no limitations.

After Jesus rose from the dead (John 20:1-10), He was with His disciples. And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit (John 20:22).

For your understanding, the disciples were not saved (born again) until Jesus resurrected from the dead (Romans 8:11).

And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission [forgiveness](Hebrews 9:22). Jesus had to shed His blood through death on the cross and resurrect from the grave for us to be born again.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you (Romans 8:11). Here you see the Trinity at work in Jesus’ resurrection.
