The Lord will Fight for You? 8-25-25

BIBLICAL Facts - Not Opinions! My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge because you have rejected knowledge (Hosea 4:6)

Many people still quote the Old Testament scripture “The Lord will fight for you” Songs have been written about the Lord fighting for you. And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation [deliverance] of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.  The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace (Exodus 14:13-14).

Keep waiting  for the Lord to fight for you, and you will be a defeated person; because you are not using the power God’s Spirit has given you power over the enemies. Or maybe you don’t understand that every child of God has the power to fight in this spiritual warfare against the devils.

Notice that the Apostles who were sent, were formerly the disciples who learned and were taught by Jesus; but after Jesus left and on the Day of Pentecost, the apostles and those in the upper room received power to minister, to take authority over demons; their battle was with the devil (Acts 1:8, 2:1-4).

Our battle is not against people –The Whole Armor of God 

Finally, my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles [tricks] of the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.  

Bible Hub- The term “heavenly places” (sometimes rendered “heavenly realms”) appears in various biblical passages as a description of domains beyond the earthly sphere. They are portrayed scripturally as real, though not always visible, indicating the seat of divine authority, angelic presence, and spiritual activity.

Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.  Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;  above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.  

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;  praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel,  for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Old Testament- There was no empowerment, because the Spirit was not living in God’s people; the Spirit came upon priests. prophets and kings which enabled them to do special things for specific purposes. No one who be indwelt by the Holy Spirit until after Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.

Jesus gave His disciples power, but they received power from the Holy Spirt after Jesus had risen from the dead, and the Holy Spirit came and He now resides in us and He empowers us.  Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6:19). Be careful how you live- the Holy Spirit is in you.

Do you wonder why so many things are not going right in your lives? This is the reason: Remember this, you have everything that’s needed in Christ Jesus, because from God’s perspective you are more than a conqueror (scrip). However, it’s up to you, because the Holy Spirit’s power has been given but you must think it (as a man thinks) and act it (faith without works). This awesome power has been given but it’s up to you to use it. Example: a student has books to learn by and teachers to instruct them, but they must study and apply what the have learned.

On the other hand, for some those who are afflicted, it could very well mean they are doing what is right; so, it can work both ways. But remember this: it is evidenced that those who are walking in victory rise above whatever comes I their lives because they stand on the Word of God; believe it and put it into action.
