The Reason Many Christians Are Not Set Free 10-23-26
Setting the Captives Free!
It is factual that everyone has or had some deeply embedded roots that have been attached to them most of their lives, whether it is recognized or accepted the fact still remains. Not only that, if people do recognize the roots, there is an ongoing need for deliverance. Why? Because we are living in these flesh bodies that are constantly being affected by this sinful, fallen world.
This is crucial; these flesh bodies cause the worst problems because they are never satisfied and the saddest thing is they are always craving for whatever is contrary to the Word of God.
This is of utmost importance, the flesh is influenced by our thoughts and our thoughts should not allow the two to connect; that’s when we’re in trouble. Let’s get to the root of how the mind can overrule the flesh.
The Word of God says- as a man thinks so is he (Proverbs 23:7).
From the beginning of time, Satan had a plan to keep God’s children from walking in victory; He came to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Look what he did to Eve in the Garden of Eden. The serpent was slick and he lied to Eve to have her questioning if God really said not to eat the forbidden fruit (Genesis 3:1-6).
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally [worldly] minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:5-6).
Let’s go a step further – How do thoughts enter our mind? By what we see and hear, of course. I am going somewhere with this, so hold on. Satan has influenced many Christians by saying certain things to have believe his lies (John 8:44).
For instance, he told some people not to believe everything that is in the Bible, or that some of the things in the Word of God are not relevant today. That, after the church was established there was no need for certain gifts to function.
That’s a deeply embedded spiritual root that causes the children of God to be in bondage. People are wondering why deliverance is not taking place in the church. It is due to not believing or embracing the full counsel of God.
When people deny what Jesus Christ has done Ephesians 4:11-16, they cannot receive complete deliverance. This is the only way the children of God will grow into spiritual maturity.
Example – If you were baking a cake and left out an ingredient, that cake would not be as tasty if all the ingredients were there. Sometimes it’s not even edible.
What about a formula? If something is left out some of the potency (strength) is gone; whatever is low quality does not give the best results. Same with outlets and people think they are getting a bargain; it is not of the best quality. God’s Word is not cheap, it has all the best ingredients, it is formulated to perfection (pure- best quality).
The Word of God is PURE- Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him (Proverbs 30:5).
Who gives people the right to pick and choose what they want the Bible to be? God is Sovereign and rules over all; we are mere flawed people who are subject to failure, but only God is true!
Want to walk in liberty? Embrace and accept all of God’s Word; that when sickness attacks your body, you will overcome walk in victory. When poverty knocks at you door, stand on the Word of God, He is your Supplier (Psalm 23, Philippians 4:19).
Jesus came to set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1, Luke 4:18). Believe all of the Word and you will be set free from bondage.
