The Blessings of Friends and Family
Thanks to my Facebook friends and family who support and encourage me as I endeavor to do God’s will.
Thank God for all my awesome friends, cousins, aunts, prayer partners, students, and teachers of Burnett Ministries who connect me with regularly. Even though you are in North Carolina, the only distance is physical; we definitely have a spiritual bond. Although I love living in New Jersey, it does not change how I miss those I have been close to for many, many years.
Although the Lord has placed a dear sister in my life and it seems as though we’re inseparable. On that note, it is a blessing when we allow God to place people in our lives, even though we don’t want certain people in our lives.
There is a reason for everything, whether we like it or not. Have you ever heard of iron sharpens iron? As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. This is to help us to be more like Christ. But we all, with unveiled faces, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).
As I was writing this scripture came to me: But since we were torn away from you, brothers, for a short time, in person not in heart, we endeavored the more eagerly and with great desire to see you face to face, because we wanted to come to you—I, Paul, again and again—but Satan hindered us (1 Thessalonians 2:17-18).
Even though Paul’s situation was different from mine, the principle is still the same. Satan has done much to hinder me from going to some of the places that I desired to go. All in all, God is in full control and whatever the devil means for evil, God has a purpose for each of us and something good results from it (Romans 8:28).
God always has something in His Word that encourages us, by revealing the experiences of others. Nevertheless, it is not easy when we long to see those we love so dearly and know that their love is genuine.
Missing my southern friends and family.
