This is a continuation from yesterday’s message. It is important for all of God’s people to understand how our Father, desires us to see Him from His perspective.

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,  and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God and put Him to an open shame (Hebrews 6:4-6).

Although the book of Hebrews was written for us, some parts of it was written specifically to the Jews.

Example:

These same people throughout history had seen the mighty works of God in their lives, but they refused to accept Jesus the Messiah, because they were looking for an earthly king to deliver them from being heavily oppressed by the Romans.

Remember the week before Jesus’ crucifixion how people were worshiping Jesus and singing “Hosanna in the highest, blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord” (Matthew 21:9). A week later these same people ware crying out “Crucify Him”(Matthew 27:22).

But the time is coming and now is when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father also seeks such people to worship Him (John 4:24). The problem with some  saints today is, they do not understand God’s perspective, which is clear. True worship is not done by emotions, but by the truth of God’s Word. That means when we understand who God really is, then we will have the same view as God does.

Remember this, once we became born again our nature changed from being natural to spiritual beings; that’s the only way we can connect with God. In other Words, our attitude plays an important role in whether we are true worshipers of God. We must be genuine in our worship to God, otherwise it is unacceptable. The flesh must be put under subjection.

Abraham had to put his flesh under subjection, which had caused doubt (unbelief). His lack of faith turned into strong faith. Pause – God didn’t look at Abraham’s unbelief, He called him a man with strong faith. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God (Romans 4:20).

In fact, Abraham’s faith was so memorable that he is one of the Old Testament saints listed in the Hebrews “Faith Hall of Fame”- By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;  for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God (Hebrews 11:8-10). Abraham being willing to obey God was a demonstration of worship (Genesis, chapter 22).

That’s what the nation of Israel should have done, because they had seen the mighty acts of God throughout the Old Testament. Obedience and reverence should be in all of God’s people because that is the only way He can be worshipped in spirit and truth.

This is the scripture that every born again believer should speak from their mouths every day; it will help not to lean to their own understanding. Trust in the LORD with all your heart And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Remember how God directed Abraham and he was sidetracked by leaning to his own understanding? If he had trusted the Lord, he would not have leaned to his own understanding. If you want to be a true worshipper, do it God’s way.
