Saved, Redeemed, Purchased, High Price (costly)

Saved- Are saved people sinners saved by grace? The people saved were sinners who are saved by grace. For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Redeemed -  In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7).

Purchased – Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood (Acts 20:28).

Costly-  For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's (1 Corinthians 6:20).

1)     Can a born again believer lose his or her salvation? I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.  My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” (John 10:28-29). Who could be so foolish to think they have more power than God if they can snatch themselves out of God’s hands.

2)    Are children of God still sinners? One cannot be a sinner and a saint at the same time. In Paul’s writings he never addressed saved people as sinners, “called to be saints” Some people will say that Paul identified himself as the chief among sinners (will be explained in the next message). That would not make sense to justify why someone would call himself a sinner. In reading Paul’s epistles, it is known that because he prosecuted the very church of God, meant to me that nothing be worse (will be explained in the next message).

3)    Are saved people sinners saved by grace? The people saved were sinners who are saved by grace. For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). The proper way to tell someone is, “I was a sinner, but now I am saved by God’s grace through faith.”

4)    Can a Christian walk away from God? If your child decides to leave home, is he still your child? Prodigal son. I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you,  and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him and put a ring on his hand and sandals on feet.”  And bring the fatted calf here and kill it and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry (Luke 15:18-24)- (this does not mean a los of salvation).

Take these verses into consideration, compare them  to what you hear and see if it makes sense. If it doesn’t make sense, search out the truth for yourself.
