Who is JESUS? 12-8-25

Jesus is the Word!

Jesus is the way, He is the truth, and He is the life (John 14:6). Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). The church was founded on Jesus and His apostles (five of the ministry offices).

And He [Jesus] Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ (Ephesians 4:11-15).

Those who don’t agree with the full council of God are treading on dangerous ground. Anyone who says the church can survive without the five-fold ministry is a liar and the truth is not in them.

Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,  having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord (Ephesians 2:19-21).

Anyone who says or teaches the doctrine that is not according to the Word of God, talking like an unsaved person; they are functioning in their intellect. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one (2 Corinthians 2:14-15).

I am not judging their salvation, but it is questionable because these people cannot be distinguished from unsaved people.

A few days ago, I heard about a young person who was pursuing to be a pastor and he wasn’t saved. There have been many who are known to be in ministry and jumped ship. Paul talked about his fellow laborer Demas.  For Demas has forsaken me, having loved this present world, and has departed for Thessalonica—Crescens for Galatia, Titus for Dalmatia (2 Timothy 4:10).

The pastor and discussed after he preached about Demas forsaking Paul. There are different views of this scripture. It does seem like Demas was not saved, however, only God knows the heart of everyone. That’s why we are called to judge another brother or sister’s action only.

Jesus talked to the Jewish hypocrites who always questioned and challenged who He was: Then Jesus said to them again, “I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come. So, the Jews said, “Will He kill Himself, because He says, ‘Where I go you cannot come’?”

And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.  Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” (John 8:21-24)

What about you? Do you believe that Jesus is who He says He is? Do you believe that the church age started with the apostles and prophets (Acts, chapters 1 and 2), and whatever God started through Jesus will continue until Jesus comes and take us to be Him?

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). If you don’t believe what Jesus said and did, you will die in your sins.
