History Made ~ the Greatest Story Ever Told - Day 23

·       Who was this Jesus? He was Mary’s Baby -  And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel (Genesis 3:15). This is prophecy from God as to the woman being a virgin; the man’s seed (sperm) that produces the child. It was prophesied later: Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14)

·       Mary was born in sin just like you and I were: Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned— (Romans 5:12),

·       Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit: And the angel answered and said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God (Luke 1:35).

·       For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever (Isaiah 9:6-7).

·       Confusing? Not if we trust God. We must believe His Word to be true, even when we don’t understand it (Proverbs 3:5-6). His ways and thoughts are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).

These are two titles that are questionable to many people.

Mighty God

·       But to the Son He says: Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom [scepter- an ornamented staff carried by rulers on ceremonial occasions as a symbol of sovereignty]. Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companion by anointing you with the oil of joy. He also says, in the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth  and the heavens are the work of your hands (Hebrews 1:8-10).

·       Jesus told the pharisees this; Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad. Then the Jews said to Him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham. Jesus said to them, Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM (John 8:56-58).

·       In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God (John 1:1)- Jesus was the Word! Jesus said He did not think it robbery to be equal with God, but He humbled Himself……. (Philippians 2:6-10).

Everlasting Father

·       Jesus Christ is the Father of creation: For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist (Colossians 1:16-17)) and He is the Father of salvation. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6).

·       Who is this Jesus? He is God in the flesh. Most people will acknowledge God, but what god are they acknowledging. Unless they acknowledge and accept that Jesus is God, they cannot receive eternal life. Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins (John 8:23).

·       The entire Bible is about Jesus Christ- I am writing what God says, you may challenge me, but when it comes to challenging the Word of  God, you don’t have a leg to stand on.

I am standing on the Word of God.
