Earlier in the week after posting a message about what would have been my dear brother/friend’s birthday, a song came to mind. “Never Grow Old” was what I thought of all the loved ones and friends who are now with the Lord. The song came up again prior to going to the community room to watch the movie “Helen” which was pertaining to seniors. The movie was humorous, and also things to think about when it come seniors being scammed, which was very befitting  for us.

I thought about aging and what will happen when we are in the eternal realm. At the present time, the longer we live, the older we get; and the closer we get to going to be with the Lord. Yet until we leave here God has blessed us to enjoy life to the fullest, even in our older years.

I thank the Lord for allowing me to be an advanced senior and be able to enjoy life despite some circumstances. I say it like this: “Seniors have paid their/our dues, therefore these should be the best days of their/our lives” “foot loose and fancy free” (no commitments or obligations; only to God) and they should be highly respected and honored.

With that being said, on behalf of the seniors and me, thanks to some council members and our management who made all of this possible for our enjoyment, as well as the trimmings that come with going to a movie theatre- pizza, popcorn, and various drinks that you provided for us.

We especially thank Councilman Jermaine Jackson of whom the seniors at the Senior Center claim him as our own, and we are well pleased with his service and how he accommodates us with sincerity of heart . He is not the famous Jermaine Jackson of the Jackson Five, but he is steadily increasing in fame with us seniors. Thanks again to each of you for going over and beyond your busy schedule so we could have an enjoyable night.

Ps. To the seniors who were there, we must remember that even though the Lord is allowing us to enjoy our senior years here on this earth, our steps are getting shorter day by day. But one day for us who are born again, we will  be in that place where we will “Never Grow Old”

“Hats off to all of my senior family and friends!”
