The Sin of Unforgiveness! 7-24-24
It is so sad how people who profess to be born-again are holding things against some others, and they are influencing others to have ill (bad) feelings toward those they don’t like. How dare anyone say they are Christians and don’t forgive others? These types of people make the Word These types of people make the Word of no effect through their tradition which they have handed down. And many such things you do (Mark 7:13).
What kind of light is being illuminated? Words are cheap! One must walk the walk as well as talk the talk. Otherwise, these people are hypocrites, and this turns people from the church. They are no better than those 'quote on quote' Christians who are racist; in the body of Christ there is no distinction.
Those who are allowing these people to influence them are no better than the people who go along with homosexuals. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them (Romans 8:28-32).
In other words, when we know of people who profess to be saved are partaking in these evil acts, and we go along with it, we are just as guilty. It's like being an accessory to a crime. We may not actively participate, but being with the person who commits the crime makes us just as guilty.
I am not only sharing my own experiences, but the subject of unforgiveness keeps coming up from others. That’s the reason I feel this warning should go out to all the readers and especially to those who are holding things against others.
And these people think they are in fellowship with God. That is not true; the Pharisees thought they were special to God because they kept the law. Yet, they were hypocrites who added hundreds of laws to the law of Moses. I believe some people today are thinking they can live their lives anyway they choose to and think they are in right standing with the Lord. Well, these people are fooling themselves.
From Harrison House - As we have seen, medical science claims that
anger, bitterness, and hatred adversely affect the human body. Many illnesses, including heart disease, high blood pressure, ulcers, and a whole array of physical disorders, may be caused by this sin.
I believe unforgiveness plays a major part in anger, bitterness, and hatred. If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?" (1 John 4:20).
The Word says. A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another. (John 13:34-35)
Didn’t Christ forgive us? And we have the gall not to forgive others! That is a shame before God, for those who claim to be His children and act like heathens (unsaved people). Not only that, if you are truly born-again, this causes division; Christ’s body has already been divided for us. So why do the children of God keep breaking His body? (Ephesians 4:32)
That’s not love; GOD is LOVE , and without Love we’d have nothing at All!
