Do all to the Glory of God (Part 2)

Not managing what God has entrusted to His people is another way that people do not glorify God. Many use excuses (cop-outs) are used that God does not accept, and there are consequences.

Being a good steward of God’s money- This is one of the problems that is overlooked, swept under the carpet many use excuses to justify any form of gambling.

Example- Is God being glorified when His children are mis managing His money? Do we have the right to use God’s money to fulfill our gambling addiction, a fleshly desire that seemed to have started off innocent and because of greed, the devil lured you back again until it became an addiction. In other words, it got you hooked.

Yet, some will say they are doing it out of fun; it’s not fun to God for His children to waste His money. What’s even worse, some say that God caused them to win; that’s a lie from the devil! God will never contradict His own Word.

1)      Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it (Proverbs 13:11).

2)      Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

3)      “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money (Matthew 6:24).

4)      He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity (Ecclesiastes 5:10).

5)      But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs [increasing intensity] (1 Timothy 6:9-10).

Bottom line- People who gamble are not trusting God. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want (Psalm 23:1). And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

I hear people say and sing this lie- “To God be the glory for all the things He has done” Be honest with yourself and do an examination- Jesus said if you love Me, you will keep my commandments (John 14:15).

Therefore, He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.  So, he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come (Luke 19:12-13). “Do business” is a COMMAND.

There are consequences for not obeying God.
