The month of October is “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” Although any form of cancer is serious, I want to share my feelings about breast cancer’ especially since I am a breast cancer survivor. Even though this is my second year of beating the odds, it is important to let others know how blessed and grateful I am.
A good report on mammogram which was taken on October first.
On September 9, 2023, I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer, and when the doctor told me, I was devastated. For many years, mammograms were done on my breast yearly. That is why it was such a blow to find out my body had been invaded with that horrible disease.
As I write today, there are many friends who had cancer and they too are survivors. However, I can only speak for myself. Testimonies have been written and posted via social media, email, and my ministry blog; I love to share testimonies of others.

My testimony: I went through the surgery with flying colors. It was suggested that I take chemo pills and have radiation. The Spirit had spoken and confirmed not to have radiation. My niece and I had consultation with both doctors (oncologist and radiation), I felt the pill would be okay because there was no indication that it shouldn’t be taken.
However, I called and canceled the radiation treatment. The radiation doctor was away when the call was made. She called me thee next week and asked why I was not going to have the treatment, and I told her that I didn’t feel it was necessary (didn’t tell her what the Spirit had said). The doctor said this:
“It could work or it could not work."
We must remember that the best in the medical field are not hundred percent! Only GOD is!
Doctors are great and God uses them but allow the Spirit of God be your Guide; He deals with each of us differently. I am going to continue living the rest of my life in victory. Notice that I speak life words over every situation and every time afflictions come, I OVERCOME!
All praises, honor and glory belong to the Lord God Almighty!
I plan to wear something pink throughout the month of October, even if it’s only an awareness pen, or bracelet! This month is important to me, and I pray that it’s thee same with all of those who have experienced breast cancer.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean to your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him [the Lord God] and He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Whatever decisions we make, when trusting God, we can count on Him to direct our paths; that’s a promise, For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us (2 Corinthians 1:20). God gets glorified through our bright lights and our testimonies. Hallelujah!
