Building on the Wrong Foundation 8-4-25

I am sure many people think that because they go to church and work diligently, that they are pleasing God. As a matter of fact, some think because they attend church services that they are pleasing God.

This is  where the rubber meets the road. The saints in the church at Corinth were operating in gifts, speaking in tongues, but they were carnal (acting like worldly people). There was division, envying and strife, they were pulling each other apart when Christ’s body had already been ripped apart for them and us.

To those who say: “Only what you do for Christ will last” is not a true statement; “Only what Christ tells you to do will last”  These people were not building on the foundation that was established by Jesus, the apostles, and prophets.

They were doing what they wanted to di in the name of the Lord. Paul was correcting them and tried to feed them meat, but they could not digest it because they were still acting like babes (immature). And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.

I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal?

For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.  According to the grace of God, which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on endures, he will receive a reward.  If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire (1 Corinthians 3:1-3, 9-15).

Lord, Lord didn’t we prophesy – depart “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day (Judgment day- Judgment Seat of Christ), ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’

And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (Matthew 7:21-23). These verses have been interpreted wrong by manty scholars. To prove everybody wrong who think that Jesus was judging sinners, this is going to take place at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Which lies up with 1 Corinthians, chapter.

If anyone’s work which he has built on endures, he will receive a reward.  If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire (1 Corinthians 3: 14-15).

When Jesus says, depart from me I never knew you, He is talking about their works which will be burned and they will not have any rewards. Brothers and sisters, this is why we need to study and divide the Word of truth correctly (2 Timothy 2:15). Studying is W-O-R-K! We should discern what the Word of God is saying and what it is not saying.

Always remember this, once we are saved nothing can change that. It’s our work (assignment, ministry, service, stewardship, gifts that we using or managing wisely to receive our reward. Please fulfill God’s purpose in your lives.
