Do You Believe the Word of God or Not?

A sister/friend and I communicated about yesterday’s message; after considering her statement, there may be others who feel the same way. Today, I am piggy backing from yesterday’s message.

  • I looked up the history of the author of “This Little Light of Mine” It’s not clear who the real author was, although a couple of names were mentioned. This song was accepted by a nationally known Bible institute. I also saw that this song was used during the civil rights movement. Do we accept the song regardless of who wrote and used it? As for me, God’s Word supersedes everything and it has final authority.

  • Therefore, whoever call themselves a child of God and accept anything that is contrary to His Word, shame on you! That’s the problem with many people today, they run with whatever they hear and don’t search what has been told to see if it is true.

  • These were more noble [they were considered excellent and honorable] than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so (Acts 17:11).

  • Paul was one of the greatest scholars in history; he got his illumination straight from Jesus for three years while he was in the in the desert of Arabia (Galatians 1:10-20). Yet the men who were being taught by him and Silas, still searched out the Word for themselves to see if the teaching was correct.

  • If anyone cannot give rightly divided scriptures to back up what they are saying, they should not challenge what is written.

  • It’s like this: New believers don’t have much light because they are still babies. But Jesus was talking to adult men (His disciples), who were continually being taught principles, and we are disciples of Christ also. That means God is speaking the same thing to us today.

  • Plus, Jesus did not say sing it, He said do It! “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). A song does not witness to anybody; it’s the light in people that is the witness, along with the Word of God.

This is the very reason why I am going to post a series about “Knowing History” The Bible is the greatest History book and THE only one with all the true facts.

  • Don’t embarrass yourself and have the demons making a mockery out you. Do study to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

  • As for me, I’m going to Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching (2 Timothy 4:2). Remember this, babies need to be trained properly, so not sparing the rod is necessary when they mishandle the Word of God.

Ps. I thank the Lord for my sister/friend who responded to the message, because He wanted others to get a better understanding too.

  • Finally, we all must appear before the Judgement Seat of Christ to give account of all the things we’ve done in these bodies, whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10). Not accepting the truth is bad!
