Cherishing Memories That Last a Lifetime

For many people, this season is not as joyous as it is to some others, because of something devastating that happened. There have been some recent losses of loved ones and some have lost all their possessions, but whatever the situation may have been, there is hope.
Personal possessions- A few days ago, someone I know lost all their possessions, yet their lives were spared. Even though the loss was devastating, there is hope. People have stepped up to the plate to assist and the love shown gives hope. Material possessions can and will be restored because our Lord is the God of restoration; that bring hope!
Loss of love ones- Over the numerous years many of us have lost loved ones and this is another season that the loss seems greater. Regardless of the number of years whether recently or long ago, there is still the pain of missing our beloveds.

Today, I am putting special emphasis on my niece, Mia, because this is the tenth anniversary of her passing. She was young and full of life, and her sudden demise shook all who knew her, especially, her mother, dad, children, siblings, cousins, and others including me (her Aunt Betty).
Until this very day, I remember Mia when it comes the phone long distance phone she made to me; she never forgot phone numbers. During those conversations, we discussed the Bible, and I would her this: “Mia, how do you know those scriptures?” She said: “You told me about them years ago” She also remembered my birthday; what an incredible memory! With that being said, how could Mia ever be forgotten?
Precious memories, how they linger, how they ever flood my soul! Mia is gone, but she will never be forgotten!

Second paragraph on Mia’s memorial card-
Remember me in your hearts:
Your thoughts, and your memories,
Of the times we loved,
The times we cried,
The times we fought,
The times we laughed.
For, if you always think of me, I will never have gone.
To all my beloved family, friends, and those I don’t know, although many of our loved ones are no longer here, let’s be grateful for the time the Lord allowed them to be in our lives. There is the blessed hope that we will see them again when we see Jesus.
