Does God Still Speak to Prophets in the Last Days? 9-18-25

Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets (Amos 3:7).
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope (Romans 15:4). In the past, God spoke to our people through the prophets. He spoke many times. He spoke in different ways. But in these last days, he has spoken to us through his Son. He is the one whom God appointed to receive all things. God also made everything through him (Hebrews 1:1-2).
God revealed His plan in the days of old to the prophets through divine revelation. Does that mean that the Lord does not speak through His prophets today? Certainly not! Nothing has changed except we are under a new and better covenant. Jesus Himself gave prophets (gifts) to the church to grow the children of God into maturity.
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:11-16).
It takes all five of these offices to function in order for the children of God to mature. Unless the church follow God’s Word, it will never grow into spiritual maturity. God said it and I believe every Word of His is true!
The prophets of old were God’s mouthpieces to warn and to lead people to keep them from going astray. However, many times the prophets were not received in the Old Testament; Jesus was not honored in His home - Jesus said to them, Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not dishonored except in his hometown and among his own relatives, and in his own household.” (Mark 6:4); the same is with the church today, and it definitely is true when it comes to some relatives.
Piggyback on laying hands on no man suddenly or hastily: This was written Paul who was operating in the prophetic when he boldly made the statement about laying hands on a man [woman] suddenly. – it’s like the blind leading the blind and they all fall into a ditch (Matthew 15:14).
Proper discernment will reveal the truth, if one is spiritually mature (Hebrews 5:14). Why do you think so many ministries are falling apart, or struggling to survive? Did the Lord really build the house (their ministry) were they really called/ordained by God (Psalm 127:1).
There are many Mega churches that I believe are either called by God and started leaning to their own understanding, which caused them to get greedy (Love of money- 2 Timothy 6:10), or they wanted the fame (to be looked up to), while others are not called! Why? Because they don’t what they are supposed to be called!
Some of these same leaders are licensing and ordaining men and women into ministry. Lay hands on no man [woman] suddenly- Do not lay hands on anyone hastily (1 Timothy 5:22a). Take notice and see how long I waited from the time the call was revealed and confirmed. Although the people who ordained me may not have understood, I knew!
I believe Paul was a prophet as well as an apostle because he was given visions and revelations from the Lord. It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord: Prophetic word of warning! (2 Corinthians 12:1). Paul’s letters were encouraging, warnings, exhortation and they brought correct to the churches.
Paul gave a prophetic warning and he brought corrections to the churches; the Lord is still using His prophets to do the same thing today.
