Be Still And Know That God is God the “I AM”

Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth (Psalm 46:10).

My emphasis is how I trusted God and believed He orchestrated circumstances for me to be where I am because it was and is His divine plan for my life.

How did I do this?

By listening and obeying even when I did not understand.

How did God get exalted?

Because of the testimony that was His glory!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

This is my story:

Upon relocating to New Jersey, four and a half years ago, I started attending a church close by; within walking distance. At that time, they were having three services; the nine am service was more suitable to me.

All the years prior to me relocating, I was obedient and went where the Spirit of God led me. Even if it was through the Lord using someone else, it was confirmed that the church was where I was supposed to be.

Not long after relocating (my third time living in Jersey), I met a wonderful sister in the Lord who became my first bestie here and we are still closely connected. My friend was attending a Bible study at another church close by, and I also started attending it.

Then I began to visit the eleven am service, and for a while it was both churches; one at 9 o’clock am and the other at 11 am. One church sung many praise songs that were so enjoyable, while mainly hymns were sung at the other church which was also a blessing to me.

In 2023 I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer and from then on the second church was where I went to regularly until this present time. Reason being, the church extended themselves to me as a non member as if I were one of them.

I believe that was pivotal in my decision making. It is a conservative church and their doctrinal beliefs are somewhat different than mine, yet I believe the Lord has ordained for me to be there.

They accept me as if I were one of them and after all this time I found out that someone else believes the same as I do, they too had the Pentecostal experience and the person prays in the Spirit daily.

The Lord is amazing! I kind of was thinking like Elijah; in that I was the only one who believed the same as me. The Lord told Elijah He had seven thousand prophets who had not bowed to Baal, Although eh situation was different, the principle was the same. When we believe everything God tells us, He always confirms it one way or the other.

What to take away- Be still and listen to the Lord for guidance and walk in obedience even if it seems crazy. Walk by faith and not by sight.
